Amplitude is a bit high did you set the lift angle appropriately for that particular movement?

Rate isn’t terrible. Beat error right on. How does it time in the other 5 positions. Take Avg of 6 positions.

I think the lift angle should be 51 degrees for the 2824. As for the timekeeping, you need to measure it in 5 positions (dial up, dial down, crown up, crown left, crown right) and take the average of the 5 positions. That is the 'quoted rate'.

Thanks guys.

I will make a video in all positions for you guys. I am not very familiar with timegraph readings as its a learning curve for me.

According to here it's 53

https://watchguy.co.uk/cgi-bin/lift_...&redir_count=1

I just put my Sub on. Some difference in readings..

Is a beat error 0.6 acceptable for 3135?

Again I will make vid all positions for you guys.

Thanks for advice

Checked ETA documentation, lift angle is 50.

Rolex watches tend to show a high beat error when the caseback is on. This is caused by sound echoing in the case. Try squeezing the sliding part of the microphone in to the case. This often helps show the true beat error.

Beat error is a touch off. Especially 0.6. That crown up amplitude will drop. Amp should read highest dial up or dial down. Take avg of 6 positions and have a look. Either way the sub could use an adjustment IMO

Thanks for reply.

It is only 8 months old.

I think I will leave this back for a warranty fix.

Just got off the phone to to my local AD. I spoke to watch maker and he concured what you said re:beat. It's too high.

He said he can fix it for me, but I am concerned letting a Jewlers watch maker open it up sure it's and AD but in house watch maker.

My concern is if the case is opened it will need a new seal and then to be pressure tested I presume and will tjat be done and secondly about dust entering movement.

Should I let him fix it or request the watch is shipped back to Rolex ?

Thanks a mill

Seriously ? A Rolex AD with an in-house watchmaker and you worry about this ?

I do haha, I should say in-house tech. I never had any work done on my watch before, I have heard if anything needs to be done to get it sent back to Rolex factory than let independent AD work on it. It's not a Rolex boutique

The adjustment is a fairly straight forward one. While a bit more complex with the microstella than lever escapement any competent watchmaker familiar with Rolex should be able to make this adjustment in a matter of 30 mins or less. Seal will not go bad just from opening and so long as they have proper tools, caseback will be torqued to spec upon closing. That said if you aren't confident about the watchmaker they have in house then send back but I wouldn't worry too much.
