15 yr anniversary gift for my wife.

So our 15 yr anniversary was this past week. Long story short I had settled on a purse my wife she had seen in a Gucci boutique here where we live. She fell in love with it when I had taken an older wallet I had in for repair (sentimental one I couldn't part with) and she noticed it. With our anniversary weeks away I made some lame excuse of not buying it right then and figured I had my search for a present wrapped up. So the day of our anniversary (I'm the biggest procrastinator) I call the store on the purse and they have one with the wallet. The girl tells me she has to do something and will be back in one hour. No problem I have time to burn. So I get down there early and decide to stop into a local Rolex AD that happens to be next door... So I tell him why I'm there and about the purse next door. He asked me what kind of watch my wife has and I tell him a Raymond Weil I had bought her almost 20 years ago before we were married and that she still has it today. She loves it. He asked me if I had decided to buy her a purse back then if I thought she would still have it today. Yep walked out with a new Rollie for the wife. Spent twice as much on the new watch but I know it would be something that would never leave her for a long time. Anyways sorry for winded post and the not that great pics. Thought I would share. Also with college football on the horizon im in for a nice uninterrupted season J/k

P.S. She went nuts. Unexpected

Beautiful Datejust! What an excellent gift! Suits her ring perfectly! You made a really good decision!

As a single male I have absolutely no idea how much a Gucci (or any other designer) handbag costs, but really? Half as much as a DJ??? Holy smokes! That really is a gorgeous watch, too, and I'm glad she enjoys it. Good on you!

There are Hermès bags that easily cost what a mint gold 16618 does and even approaching Platona kind of money! And they have waiting lists just like the SS Daytona and Nautilus! Insane but true!

Thanks everyone for the anniversary and watch congrats! Yes I made the right choice by far. Think about a time when you have ever surprised someone beyond words. It was quite an emotional moment for her...and me. She was truly taken aback. I know there are better watches out there but Rolex is name you don't wonder about.

Congrats on the Anniversary and the watch!!! It's a beauty!

The handbag game ain't no joke... Working face first with high net-worth clients, I've got to know high profile brands across the board. I almost collapsed the first time I heard about the difference between a Michael Kors bag and ACTUAL high-end purses. I'm happy to say my Love hates purses; but I have gotten her to choose a Rolex for when the time comes.

Awesome watch. This is similar to the watch I purchased for my wife just before we became engaged (she got a ring too). It looks identical except my wife's dial says "Date" instead of "Datejust." Does anyone know the difference? Anyways, excellent choice!

Congrats and happy anniversary. I've got our 25th coming up this year and I am in the same dilemma. The wife wants a Kelly Bag but I am thinking of getting us a pair of watches. You can get a purse anytime but a watch is an heirloom that can be passed down to the next generation.
