GS SBGA409 Ginza LE

https://www.grand-seiko.com/jp-ja/special/sbga409/

Saw this is in a shop in Ginza today and the dial is quite mesmerizing. Different angles and lighting create this effect of a forest.

Tried to do some research online but there's no mention of it in the English speaking web; guess it's due to it being a Ginza exclusive. Apparently it goes on sale Sept. 7 and limited to 100 units at 5 shops in Ginza.

I saw that there's a four seasons US exclusive as well and figured this might be the Japanese version of it.

Did some more research on it. Looks like the closest thing to the SBGA409 is the SBGA387. Both are based on the 44GS case, 40mm and 12.5mm thick and use the 9R65 spring drive movement. Both are limited edition (100 vs. 588). However, the retail price of the 409 is Y590,000 which works out to about US$5,400 whereas the 387 retailed for US$6,800. Odd pricing strategy unless ADs are discounting the 387 by 20% or so to customers. The Ginza model is fixed pricing, or so the sales lady told me.

That Ginza LE looks like a steal at that price for me. The aesthetic look great to me too. How did it look in the metal? Any pics?

This version looks to have spring drive which is one up (or down depending on prefence) over the "seasons collection" high beat green US LEs of recent release. Only winter and spring (white and samurai pink/salmon) are spring drive in the season collection.

This also the same type of dial pattern that the recent "lion" editions have on the dial.

The 44GS case like the SBGA387 is fantastic for this model, really like the lines and case shape.

is the original warranty void if not bought from an AD or boutique?

The SBGA409 looked great in person... almost picked it up but already have the 387 which made it too similar. 387 does have 2 extra leather straps + buckle so could account for $300-500 difference, but certainly not the $1400 difference.
