Help????
Ever since the recent maintenance that was done to this forum, my formerly excellant experience is no longer excellant. When I click on a thread, it takes forever to view what I clicked on. Sometimes it even times out. I know that it is definately not my computer and/or system. Can someone please help??

Have you tried deleting your cookies and temp internet files?

The speed of the forum is just as fast as it has ever been for me, if not faster since the recent update to the software.
There may be short periods of time when the server is performing a maintenance task, but those are very few and far between. As suggested by Kurt, it would be a good idea for you to delete your cookies, page forms, temporary files, cache etc. Let us know how it goes. Also try another internet connection eg at work or other location and compare the speed.

I've had the same problem. I deleted everything I can delete. It is hit and miss though. I have AOL and about 75% of the time since the upgrade it takes 45 sec's to open a thread or it just times out. If I switch to internet Explorer I don't have the same problem. I'm not sure why I'm having these issue's but it has been since the upgrade.

Using Firefox or Safari web browsers it takes only 2-5 seconds for the post to appear from having pressed 'post reply'.
Opening a thread is basically instantaneous to 1 second. So as I said please clean out all your temp files etc. close down the computer and re-boot. Establish that your connection speed to the internet is as you expect and then take it from there. Maybe AOL is your problem as it uses Netscape. Netscape from what I understand is no longer supported at all or has it been upgraded in quite a long time so it might be that you will need to change to another browser. AOL itself will end support for the Netscape browser on Feb. 1. 2008 AOL will no longer offer Netscape security patches or other updates. Netscape browsers do not support new internet technology and web-pages, so if you have Netscape now is the time to change. Personally I really like Firefox, it has tabbing and works very well with such things as Yahoo Mail. Getting your favorites over can be a hassle but it well worth it. Sorry guys but we have to keep up with web technology and advancements.
