A bit about me. For starters!!!!

Just signed up to TRF have been aware of it for a long time but never really utilised the forum to the best advantage. I live in Burnley, England. I have been collecting watches since 2004 really, my first purchase was a Tag Heuer F1 quickly followed by a Tag Heuer 2000 Chronograph (my mum went mad when I spent over £1000 on a watch and was still living at home at only 21). I will do the next in list:

2:Panerai Luminor Mariner PAM 177 G serial. 2004.
3:Rolex GMT Master II Late F serial(16710) in new style box. 2005.
4:Heuer Carrera 1964 re-edition. A 1998 example.
5:Tag Heuer Carrera 1964 Limited edition. 2004.SOLD
6:Rolex GMT Master I (1675). 1979. (My birth year).
7:Panerai Radiomir Blackseal PAM 183 H serial. 2006.
8:Rolex Submariner 16610 F serial. (Bought 2006).
9:Rolex Submariner 14060 D serial.(2006).SOLD
10:Omega Speedmaster From Moon to Mars 2005 limited edition.SOLD
11:Tag Heuer Monaco (2002).
12:Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean (2006).SOLD
13:Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 Early 2004 F Serial in old box.(2007) Sold my Sub non-date to fund this.
14:Tag Heuer 1000M Diving watch from 1998.
15:Heuer Diving watch from 1979 (My birth year again).SOLD
16:Rolex Explorer 1 114270 F serial (2008).
Then I sold my sea-dweller to put towards funds for a new car.2008.
17:Sold the Explorer 1 to fund another Sea-Dweller 16600 now on a late F serial in new style box!

Well thats it a basic overview of my watch buying habits over the past 5 years. Always got excited about new models of Omega and was always vastly disapointed so will stick with Panerai and Rolex with a bit of old Heuer for good measure.
On the look out for the original Panerai 1950 (PAM127) (Holy Grail) and if anyone has a Heuer Carrera 1964 re-edition with a black face?!?!?!?

I'm far from a Tag fan, but I must admit those older models look kind of cool. Nice watches . I look forward to your next pics.

Rolex GMT Master 1675 1979

Rolex GMT Master II 16710

Rolex Explorer 1

This was a low point. Bought this from ebay in 2005 believing I had struck gold paid £2500 for what I thought was a rare £10,000+ beauty, my jeweller got me a chair when I took it in to show him. FAKE. Never though they would copy an old watch, it was an unbelievable copy. Managed to get all my money back through ebay which was a relief.

Not had chance to get any pics of latest Sea-Dweller!!!

Welcome man

I can relate to you on a lot of levels:
(a) 177 PAM - just an amazing watch;
(b) 1675 GMT - just magic, classic tool watch;
(c) 114270 Explorer - rock solid great wearing.
(d) vingage Heuer - some great movements and timepieces.

Welcome, and please participate as you wish

Hi Jamie,

Welcome the TRF! Thats what I call an introduction Impressive collecting history and awesome selection of watches!

My collecting days certainly slowed down when I became hitched in 2000 and even more after having our little Girl who's now two, I still get itchy feet or should that be an itchy wrist

Enjoy yourself here, you'll love it it a great place with awesome people and knowledge like you wouldn't believe, I've only been here since early January and have certainly learned a lot

Enjoy!

Dave.
