+1

I don't think you are going to find any show that was made in last 20 years that's closer to Columbo than Monk.

Take a look at Bosch, I just finished it and highly recommend.

Professor T is a new Brit show that is something like Monk as well.

Another really good new Brit detective show is McDonald and Dodds. On Prime Britbox.

My Life is Murder is also a great Aussi detective show on Acorn starring Zena the Princess Warrior.

Jack Irish is a good series on Acorn as well. 3 movies and 3 seasons I think. Starring Guy Pierce.

I have lunch with an old friend about once a month.
When the bill comes, and he's buying, he'll often turn to me and say (in his best Angel voice), "Jimmy I'm a little short, could you spot me twenty for old times sake?".

Check out Grantchester and then Inspector Morse, would be my recommendation.

I think Brokenwood and Death in Paradise you’ll like a lot.

You may want to try Agatha Christie's "Poirot" series. I just love David Suchet, he is perfect in this role!
Brilliant! It's almost as if she wrote the books and his character with this actor in mind!

Try Pie in the Sky. It’s on Britbox or Acorn.

Sadly there isn’t one. I loved that show.

Watch re-runs of House. Solving medical mysteries with a side of sardonic humor.
