The Happening is one of my top 1 worst movies.
I stuck it out thinking it HAD to get better. It didn't.
Mark Wahlberg owes me 2 hours of his personal time to make up for it.

An hour in you’re pot committed. Have to finish it. The magical time to hit the eject button is 30 minutes in.

I didn't mind that one really. At least the production was good.

Netflix series seem to be becoming noted for the graphic, gratuitous sex scenes very early in episodes which one assumes are inserted to pander to/titilate a target cohort and ensure continued viewing. Has the opposite result in my house. If I don't like the tone of a series or movie it will get terminated at any point in the process. I'm a big fan of "vote with your feet".

Just how bad is it?
I mean, is it Barbara Streisand bad?

Then definitely.

Unless absolutely unwatchable, I finish watching the movie.

I’ve only walked out of the cinema once: during David Lynch’s ‘Inland Empire’. It’s only entertainment, so why grind it out?

I abandon lots of novels within the first 20 pages, sometimes after just a page or two; you can tell a lot about a writer from the first page alone. I’m often surprised how much I dislike some things that have won big literary prizes or that people love, and have no qualms about hitting eject as early as possible.

Noooooo!!!

Seriously, as said above, my wife will bail (by falling asleep), but I’ll finish out almost anything.
We watched “The Tomorrow
War” the other night, and we were BOTH groaning at just how bad the plot, screenplay writing, the acting AND the delivery, the special effects, the sloppy gun handling, the ridiculous decisions made by the characters... could be!!!
It’s NOT an entertaining film, unless you like to throw your watch winder and empty wine glass at the screen!

i loved Leonardo dicaprios charachter in once upon a time in hollywood.

i had the exact same take on the first viewing, i fell asleep and thought it was a crappy film, watched it again during the day and possibly in a different mood and i loved it, especially Leos performance .

currently re re-watching the christopher nolan film Tenet...very cool, i recommend it
