Help with rolex marconi

New member here. I'd like some input as to whether this is a real Rolex Marconi. I am a huge fan of the art deco era and would love to buy this watch. Thanks in advance for your input/comments.

Thanks yes the dial does appear to be strangely new. But are the guts/movement of the watch authentic in your opinion?

I'd appreciate any help identifying whether this is an authentic Rolex mouvement (see photo). Much thanks friends!

Help with rolex marconi

I would not entertain buying it if the seller can’t provide better pictures.

No, that movement wouldn’t have been in a Marconi. I can’t even tell if it has the proper lever from the blurriness.

Rolex didn’t make these movements for the Marconi to begin with - they bought them from the Brandt family’s General Watch Company. The whole point was to sell a cheaper watch so cheaper movements were used.

I’m not casting aspersions towards you, but we sometimes have new members testing the waters to pass off an old looking watch as authentic.

Thanks for replying Paul...and just in time as the auction is about to end. I won't buy the watch. No need to explain why you and other members are being cautions. I am indeed a newbie. Cheers RK.
