Prediction on the BLRO and SS Daytona

Reach down deep:
What will a mint Pepsi and SS Daytona w/ box and papers sell for in 10 years?
Will it outperform the S&P500?

Who cares honestly? I bought my watches because I like their design. Too many people interested in these watches for the wrong reasons these days.

A lot of people care. Impressive design, amazing specs and how it makes you feel are fundumentals. Value retention to some is a strong second to many.

I've been biting my tongue on a lot of these threads. I don't intend on sounding rude, but this is just getting ridiculous now.

FWIW, my money is on the S&P.

We’ve gone well beyond value retention. People are literally buying the 116500 not because they like it, but because they think they can outperform the S&P. This is tulip mania

You can love the watch, not ever be willing to sell it and ponder about its future value.
BLRO will sell for its current grey market price (18k) and the Daytona will sell for 30k. Neither will outperform the S&P 500.

In my opinion when a “crash” comes it will be across the board in all financial aspects.

i predict 50K...easily. They'll discontinued it...like they always do...guaranteed it :) . They'll probably put the ugly jubilee and then people will want the oyster :)

By 10 years, I hope everyone is going to be worth 100 mil....so 50K is chump chain :) . And I'm being conservative :)

Here is a Yelp listing for fortune tellers in Texas...they have about as good a chance of predicting this as we do, enjoy

Short term, maybe.
Long term, nope.
Just my honest opinion. I am no financial expert.

Wonder what a Paul Newman Daytona sold for 10 years ago.

Or one of those old subs with rusty hands and flaking tritium (I'm sorry, I mean Patina) that go for 80K now.

Prediction on the BLRO and SS Daytona

BLRO will retail for $20k with today’s watch commanding $26k second hand.

Daytona will be 126500 by then and retail for $22k with second hand ones from today going for $35k.

Just out of curiosity. How much did they sell for 10 years ago?

I can’t wait for this bubble to burst. Then we can all go back to talking about watches again rather than “investments”.

I think lol-x needs a new web site address. The Rolex Investor - Speculators Forum would work just nice.

As I mentioned earlier today...all you savvy investors need to research tulips.

The bubble is about to burst will be worth less than retail...

At this time trading is now done not by collectors or enthusiasts as we know the watches are available at retail.with a wait but at retail price...that the watches are mass produced and not rare ..there are millions of them ..with millions more warches to be made..

So all the dealing is speculator buying from grey or speculator..it's a tricky situation

As with stocks shares and commodities it hits saturation point and collapses as it dawns on the market that they are buying overpriced objects that are available..it's normally a cycle and I predict

Bubble Burst in 12 months.. with a slow down within the next 6 and a flat market in 18 months time.. the down turn is already starting as a ripple..second hand stuff is not selling as it was as the pull out is still costly.. take for example sub dates they are trading at 10% less than they were 7 months ago ..and what is at the greater price is not selling ..then overstock then BOOM.with bailout

Not again! For all you know, nobody would care in 20 years from now. That generation will be collecting vintage smart watches!

Sometimes I need to double check that I’m not on a “Stockmarket speculation” forum.

the FV of the pepsi /daytona is not relevant, I think the majority would agree watches are not investments.
For example if I have to wait several years to purchase said investment, I have lost money on the cash available, unless it is actually invested somewhere in the first place.

Luxury goods as a primary investment are a bad idea. Is this really should I buy Rolex's or put my cash into a good quality mutual fund?
