For the record - did you try the same model, but in urushi (laquer) and raden (abalone-shell) maki-e? I tried on both, and it was by far the more special of the two...

Didn’t know I was going to get heat for calling it the batgirl. Batman, batgirl, new Batman, BLNR....as long as you can indicate which watch you’re talking about, I think it’s fine...... don’t want to start another stupid debate about calling the 114060 the submariner, not the no date submariner. It’s a watch people!

Even more torn after all the replies. I’ve heard many times about the quality and finishing of credor and how one might consider it a class above Rolex. Super torn...

Would love to hear from anyone who owns a credor too maybe? :)

That's true, way below and not even close in terms of finishing and accuracy.

May I ask what the price point on those pieces are?

Unless you really fell in love with the Credor you should wait for the blnr. And to the person that said blnr is in a different league than a Credor: OMG, do some research.

Since you want stealth credor is a top choice. I like the gmt for my own collection here but its not below the radar at all.

120-pieces LE GCLP989 from 18 months or so ago… about $10K ish, from memory.
I think some were officially exported to Seiko Boutiques, so worth contacting to see what the score is on that front.

Just seen new models have been release, to mark 45 years since Credor’s introduction in 1974…

2 different machines. Credor is a dress watch, GMT is a sports watch. Definitely this over a Rolex Cellini.

As others have said two completely different watches in both quality and purpose. From a quality and finish standpoint, I would go Credor all day long. Not even in the same league. Plus, you won't see them on every corner like you do with Rolex, which I like. (may not matter to you). If you are looking for a durable sport watch, by all means go with the Rolex. In my opinion, the Credor is just special.

We can know about, and greatly respect Credor, without particularly liking the watches themselves.

Really depends on the what and why you like about watches.

Credor is more about less being more with serious value built in.

The GMT is more about curb appeal and school districts.

Ended up getting the BLNR. I think I was in love with the idea of exclusivity with the credor (yes, it’s rarer than a SS Rolex) - not the watch itself.

Just have to find that perfect dress watch now.

Batgirl vs Credor

This will prob be heresy but I find the Credor ridiculously ugly, so perfect end indeed!

Congrats on the BLNR.

Try on a vintage GS45. Probably one of the greatest movement and dress-case combos in history.

If you're buying a watch to impress your friends, buy the Rolex.

If you're buying a watch to impress yourself....go with the Credor.

Shocked how many Rolex fan boys are in the Seiko section,, the above shows the difference between somebody who likes watches, and somebody who likes a Rolex.

Credor is an exceptional watch and extremely rare on this side of the world. Personally I would get that over a GMT all day.
