how about a compromise? Get the blue/black 42mm ROO. It is basically the child of the black and old blue ROO and is a great combination of the two.

the blue/black is the best one IMO. Arije had one and in person it was really, really nice. I haven't seen the other ones though.

I saw a new safari on here though.

I was looking for one for a whole year. Fell in love with the grey theme... then the blue then back to grey. That went back and worth for a year then i decided to get the blue. I loved the casual look and i (still) dont have any blue dial watches in my collection. The people at my AD put the black on while i had had the blue and grey one on before. I loved the look and the words from the AD that blue or any other fancy colour might loose apeal on you quicker then black. So in 10 min i walked out with the black and back home i realised what happend? I got the one i never liked. Still love it... Recently i damaged it bad though after beeing very carefull. Hurts every time i see it :-/ O well part of the wearing game.

BTW my AD said they did not sell the blue one a lot so i could have gotten an extra discount on it. They gave me 20% on the black one. Just FYI

its amazing how a trip to the AD can do that. Watches are rarely the same in person as in other peoples pics. Both in good and bad ways, but hardly ever as expected.

The hardest part is making the choice without the AD having all the contenders at once to compare as is usually the case. The 42mm's are particularly hard as you rarely see more than about two options at any given time and there are a lot of options.

Sometimes i think its a trick they play with their stock. I took a friend to buy the 42mm safari. They had the grey and the safari to try. Since he was keep on the safari he bought it. The next day i went in just for a cup of coffee and to my suprise i saw grey, blue and a new safari. Could it be a way of selling what is most in stock? Anyway wish i could own all.....

who knows. I wish they did what Patek did though and had the entire collection on display even if only in Geneva or Le Brassus or anywhere. That way there was at least one place you could go and actually see everything. It would make the decision process so much easier. Getting on a waitlist for a year for a watch you may not even like in person seems very inefficient to me.

I recently moved to Santiago in Chile and here are a lot of AD's. Every mall has one and recently i visited the AD Mosso and they are the number one seller of watches here in south America. That shop was great!! They had all the new Audemars watches (besides all other brands). No waiting list here. Then what you said happens.... you fall in love with watches that never looked the part on the internet.... Anyways you all have a great day/night where ever you are in the world!

great story my friend, I wanted the grey, but it was freaking hard to look at those numbers, I didn't bought the blue because at that time it was very sporty to me, the black was a little bit more formal but with the red also casual, for the past couple of days the blue is getting a lot of my attention with the white chronos, all my watches are black dial, also one reason I wanted to go towards blue
i wish i could have them both lol

I still want the blue/orange. See me wearing it with jeans its just..... so super casual but for the people who know. Allmost there saving up for a PM white/silver dial then lets see haha

Does any one has the same problem leaning towards the same colour dial? If i look at the watches i own or have owned most were black dials while in this case i wanted a diffrent colour then black and still end up with the black one.

Do people buy diffrent colour dials for not having the same colour?

also I think the blue orange and the new safari, the chrono has something to do, personally for me, the two tones I like that a lot, the other models I think they blend with the dial

I was deciding between the blue orange and new safari also when deciding. You are right about the colour contrast. Everything just blends in nicely with the blue, silvery white and orange. It wasn’t that obvious with those lightings in the boutique but once you take it outside, the natural light just enhances the beauty of it.

i think long term, a more neutral colour like black or grey will match most clothes better.

blue is nice, but it's true, you may get sick of it after awhile.

i do agree with this. I can't do a blue watch with a blue strap personally. I can do one or the other but otherwise its just blue overkill for me. The new Black/blue is appealing to me for that reason. Still has a blue strap but the dial is much less blue. Plus i personally really like the blue and black colors together even though i grew up being told never to wear navy with black.
