Hulk owners - did you get tired of the color green?

I trying to decide between a black date sub and a green hulk. I really like the hulk but I'm afraid that the green may grow old and that it isn't really a color I would be able to wear everyday. I'm reaching out to fellow hulk owners to hear your thoughts. I should note that I also have a black Omega Seamaster 300M that I could use as a black watch if needed.

Thanks!

Not at all and sometimes can't stop myself from staring at it. My wife even thinks I'm crazy for staring at it so much. LOL

If anything black is what you see is what you get

The green sub can look dark grey in dark light. It can look mint in direct sun and a rich green all other times

It’s the dial that sets it apart. It’s lovely sunburst makes it very special

I’ll never tire of it.

If it was your only watch you may want to consider a ND sub or older SD. Or get the green sub and a bb 58.

You get so many different hues green (from bright green, to dark green up to pitch black) that it is impossible to get bored of it.

I was in the exact same place. I had a black SubC and was anti-Hulk guy for quite a while. Green wasn't my favorite color and it's very green, I didn't think it would be versatile, etc. Then I tried it on and I was blown away. Mind you, I had a BLNR so I had a watch that looked very similar aesthetically to my Sub, but that green is really stunning. I ended up selling my black and switching over to the LVc and I haven't regretted it whatsoever. My advice is get the one that speaks to you. Don't get the black because a lot of guys will say it's the most versatile and don't get the green because it's such a hot watch right now.

No, absolutely not.

In fact, it's the opposite: I've owned mine for more than 3 years, and appreciate it now even more than when I first bought it (when I wasn't 100% sure if my appreciation of the dial would hold up long term).

As others have said, the dial remains mesmerizing, and changes colors in different lights, making it something that never gets 'old' to stare at.
It's my one rolex I know I'm keeping-- more so than either daytona or my soon to be CHNR.

That’s not a normal bracelet. Did you have yours polished, or swap it out with a GMT bracelet?

Not me. During my ownership I loved looking at it more and more. I think it was the watch that caused me to stare at it the most because it is very different with how light and angles effect the dial. I never even liked or considered a green watch until I tried it in person....
My reaction was woooooooooow! I kid you not.

Lol. I stare at mine too all the time and my wife thinks i have a problem. As for the hulk, i think its a very beautiful watch. I have had it for 8 months now, wore it everyday and still loving it. Never gets old.👍🏻👌🏻

The Hulk is a great piece. It was actually my first Rolex and I still have it. I have to admit, however, it is not as versatile as I’d prefer. Overtime, I did get tired of it, and now my wife wears it most of time.
Between a black sub and a Hulk, I would go for the LVc everytime. Everyone should experience it.

Here is my opinion: Any watch with colour other than black will get old with you if it is your only watch. Hulk, BLNR, Bluesy, BLRO.. I know I would tire of them all and end up back with a simplistic and versatile never-gets-old black Sub. I think you need a black Sub by default and then from there you can expand into some colour as your collection builds.
That's me anyway..

I have owned mine for many years now.
Never get tired of it. Great all-rounder and everday watch.
The dial is beautiful but in almost all light is much less vibrant (loud?) than many pictures would have you believe.

I’ve had mine for several years and never get tired of the color. My original concern was around matching my watch to my clothes. Over time, I learned that mentality was a little too OCD (for me) and I don’t need to live a monochromatic life/look. In fact I don’t want to be overly “matchy” with my timepieces/wedding ring and clothing.

Yes, the green has grown old for me. At least with regards to wearing it. I do love the look of it, but I don't love wearing it. I can't really explain. I've only been wearing it this month a little bit because of the green for Christmas. I will probably sell mine at some point next year. Black is the way to go, in my opinion.

TBH, I did. Several times, actually.

In all seriousness, it's not so much getting tired of the green, it's just too much green, with both the bezel and the dial being green. These days, I get my green sub fix from the Harrods, and couldn't be happier.

Proud owner of the Hulk since 2016 and I can honestly say I won't get tired of the green dial. Oddly enough however, I do get tired of the powdery green bezel which doesn't quite compliment the dial perfectly. However I balance this with the fact that I get tired of my BLNR's black dial but never tire of it's perfectly balanced bezel. In other words:

Hulk=Perfect dial, flat bezel
BLNR= Flat dial, perfect bezel

Moral of the story; try to get both for perfect balance.

Sometimes the bezel when it’s really dark but after I while I start to miss it. I do love the bezel when the sun makes it look milky and I never get tired of the dial

I love mine, but couldn’t have it as my only watch. As others have already pointed out, the watch is very chameleon like; it’s definitely bright green in sunlight and almost black in very subdued lighting. As long as you have another watch (black dial) that you like then definitely get a Hulk!

I've said this many times... If I was forced to only own one diver (or one Rolex for that matter), I'd probably go with a 114060. The 116610LV would never be my one and only Rolex. I love it as part of my larger collection and have found that the green goes with a lot more than you would think. At the end of the day, it's still a diver in stainless steel on a bracelet.

Saying that, I can understand why some people have no issue wearing this on a daily basis.

I love mine. The face looks different at any given time. But I would also never have it as my only watch. It's good to have a black face as well.

Nope. It’ll be five years strong on my wrist in March and I’m still as big a fan as I was on day 1.

Wow, so much love for the Hulk. I'm seriously considering it now. Thought most responses would say that it's a bad idea for a one piece Rolex collection.
Now though, for a technical question, since none of the local A.Ds have a Hulk in stock, how do I see it before buying? Do I put my name on the list, wait for a call and then decide? Or are there other options?
