Does anyone have a Geiger counter I could borrow???...

Soo long story short I was messing around on youtube watching videos about watches to pass the time and I stumbled upon the video below. I think its worth a watch btw if you collect really old watches (pre 70s). Basically he tests the "hotness" of several vintage watches equipped with radium painted dials and some of them were crazy higher then I would have expected. Like a lot more Soo about 6 months ago I inherited a 1940s Rolex bubble back automatic 18K pink gold / stainless in amazing condition but it wont run probably because it has not been serviced since my great grandfather passed away 50 years ago. I was planning to get it serviced and wear it every now and again on special occasions out to dinner or what not. But after watching this video now my curiosity is getting the better of me and I just have to know before I start wearing the thing with regularity if its emmiting a crazy amount of radiation. Just watch the video.

Good video
As he said, absorbing or breathing in radioactive particles is a real danger, as they will continue to irradiate you internally, but I also would not want to wear a hot watch on a regular basis.

Prob less dangerous then those 5g masts. I hear they summon vaccinations.

Would love to see the Geiger tick tho out if interest!

I wear a hot watch on occasion. Have that Detector and another, as well as a radon gas meter. Hot watches multi boxed, inside a pelican, inside the safe (or at SDB), no reading outside.

A buddy of mine is an artist Glass Blower and has uranium infused glass rods so I tested them, hot, though not as hot as a 50s Fifty Fathoms bezel.

A few watches around 59/60 might be Stronitum - even worse.

Various hands and dials, Tudor 7924, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, some 7928s ( I test all of them, some register a fair amount, some not at all, some just a smidge.
