Meanwhile, at OP Singapore..........

when we poked our heads in this afternoon, my man there said he had something special for Madam. A minute later he reappeared with this............

Here's the PAM 684 on a black 'gator as modelled by Mrs Van D

Trust me Cru, it's absolutely gorgeous. I was seriously torn in foregoing my 533 until next year so I could pick up the 684 for my wife instead. Having seen the RG YM, which I quite like, the 684 blows it away

It does seem stunning! Real head-turner.

If you would get to wear the 684 from time to time, I know what I would have done. ;-)

And therein lies the problem, my friend. I wouldn't be allowed within three post (zip) codes of it!

That said though, it is actually quite feminine. It's not very rugged, grrrr, like a normal Submersible. It's also a 42mm and wears surprisingly small

This was my pick from this year's new models. Have yet to see it in person but the black on gold just works so I'm sure that won't disappoint.

Out of curiosity, how large are those (6" in diameter, larger, smaller)?

Wow! That looks great on her. Did she actually give it back?

I guess the reason why it wears small is due to the black bezel.

It's the rose gold that makes it look feminine. I was contemplating it for myself for a brief minute or two but Mrs Van D piped up that that rose gold doesn't typically work on men and it's one for the ladies. We could debate that one all day but combined with the size of it, I think she had a point.

I wore my D-Blue on Sunday and it seemed to dwarf the 684 even though it's a larger piece.

It's certainly very beautiful though but I really am not convinced it's one for the boys.

What really sets it apart from the RG YM is that the bezel doesn't dominate the watch. On the YM, you almost have to turn it sideways to see that the watch underneath is RG whereas on the 684 it's very clear what it is. Like the YM, the 684 also has a ceramic bezel (but you all probably know that anyway).

It's a dangerous place to visit for sure, Peter.

I offered to let her have it and I'd wait for my 533 and she point blank refused. I know, they all say that. I turn 50 in a few weeks and the 533 is my birthday piece and she said there is no way she would let me buy the 684 for her because it's not all about her and she's not stealing my thunder. What a woman!

They're about that, yes. Maybe 5" but not a million miles out.

Nothing lowly about a 31mm OP.

She did keep it on for a worryingly long period of time!

I'm not sure why it seems small, but it looked lost on my wrist and it's only 7.25".

Thank you my brother, it looked awesome on her. I was planning on saving for it for her once I've picked up my 533 but there's only 250 of them and it's not clear if they're going to do another run next year on the U serial.

Whilst I'm not typically a fan of large dive watches on women, Mrs Van D can really pull it off because she's quite tall and she's built like a tank. I really am in two minds which watch to pick up at the end of the month now. I think she'd go berserk if I pick up the 684 for her but I'm sure she'd forgive me. In time

I have seen the 682 and tried the new 1305 here in Geneva. The 1305 is definitely much better than the 305, thinner case and the dial with white indexs and the little blue hand is really nice looking.
The 682 looks very cool too. I wish I could try it just to see how it looks on the wrist.

A 42mm kettle might look ok on fridge as long as he's of a smaller stature.

Wow...the gold is gorgeous indeed!

I have to agree that the service at OP Ion is beyond excellent!

If not for the fact that I had already splurged on PP 5711 three months ago, I would have bought one of the "small-size" PAM.
