You are a lucky man indeed......shes a beautiful bride........and gifts you watches to boot!!!! Congrats again!!! And remember that marriage can feel like 90/10 from both sides so always try to see each other's point of view before you let anger slide in.

Congratulations Won, but I'm a bit concerned about your rushing into this after only 10 years engagement. I think you shouldn't be so impatient.

If you don't mind I have a question about your comment above. I'm always interested in learning about other cultures and laws. If you don't mind to help educate me. You say that you're already legally married but that it's not recognized until a wedding reception takes place. Does that mean that the government does not recognize your marriage? Is there a law requiring wedding reception?

Sure is, the Parents-in-LAW
In Asia it's common to get hitched by signing the papers etc (sometimes needed to buy property in joint name), then get your fancy photoshoot done, then only throw the big party bash with tea ceremony, festivities etc. Also not uncommon to repeat the big dinners in 2 or more locations, if the parties come together from afar. 100s to 1000s of guests, endless banquets that the B&G barely get to taste haha! One gets good value out of your wedding gear. Or some others, we've had friends that jetted the whole bridal party off to a resort on Pulau Langkawi for a whole week of celebrations - that was pretty full-on! |

The only part left to sort out is the actual wedding reception. Typically, several hundred guests between both sides of the family. My brother in-law had around 700 guests, and the biggest one I've been to is about 1,200 guests. I'm looking at about 300 family and close friends; I did not want to have more guests than the number of friends I have on Facebook! More often than not, the huge numbers are from parents side but mine were willing to really trim down the numbers. |

One luncheon done. Two more dinners to go, before all this is complete! I won't lie, it has been quite a bit of stress; printers delayed my invitation cards (6 weeks left, none sent out!) and my home renovations are running concurrently so I've got a really tight timeline.
At least for the home work, the goods news is tiles have been picked, paid for and fully delivered. Hacking work also completed, so waterproofing then laying the tiles out. This week, I will be working to write names out on invitation cards (I'm an IT guy, that means I have horrible hand writing and this is actually a daunting task!) and sending them out. Quick question to the gentlemen who have been married for much longer than I have... do you worry about scuffing your ring when you drive, wash your hands, etc? Clearly, I have not yet become one with mine! |

I stumbled upon this thread when i was searching for wristshots to get more ideas. I guessed everything went on smoothly, done and dusted? To your question, I used wear my ring every day except when I am at the gym. However, I have stopped wearing my wedding ring after 2 years. I am still married. Just that I nearly lost my ring on a few occasions. Resizing would not help because the issue is my big knuckles relative to the diameter of my ring finger. |
