What are Bell n Ross watches like? Reliability? Resale? Precision?

I have been eyeing them on Chrono 24 and they definitely have a unique look. In build quality and reliability and resale value how would they compare to Omega, Panerai or Breitling?

I wouldn’t pay that kind of money for a watch with bad resale value and without a great movement. Just get a tag. Can get a lower entry level model for the same price and it will last longer.

I do like the B&R look tho but not for me

What about something like this new but on the gray market?

This is the MSRP

https://www.bellross.com/our-collect.../BR_03-94_RS17

This is what I can buy it for on the gray market brand new

This is my current collection. Submariner date bluesy, Panerai Pam 90, Breitling Super Avenger 2 and Omega Ploprof Date. I always say watches are like sex and money. You can never ever have too much of them.

When you think resale value, then don’t buy watches. Buy real estate. But if you love the watch just buy it and enjoy. I have the BR01 46mm it’s wear big just like Panerai.

I have never bought any watch with the intention of ever reselling it nor do I ever plan to. I keep the insurance which is at full MSRP cash if they get stolen, I get mugged, lost etc.

They are an exercise in marketing. Gussied up eta movements. There is no pedigree.

I don’t like the square look. And agree better off buying used. Good luck

Let’s be fair. Rolex have been the kings of marketing for a long time.

Mine is COSC accurate but not COSC rated. Any watch except a Rolex makes sense to buy used. I enjoy mine for something different and casual. Bought mine in Nassau while on a cruise for 20% off. This particular model has all ceramic case and I really enjoy wearing it. According to Chrono24 app it’s dropped $900 in value since I bought it 14 months ago. But I don’t buy for resale. I buy what I like.

And, unlike 95% of others in the watch industry, they have the substance and quality to back it up.

Because only Rolex makes quality watches?

No, but they’re one of the few that not only truly understands the meaning of quality, but also practices it.

B&R's are decent watches but like others have pointed out, they take a HUGE, IMMEDIATE hit at MSRP. Their MSRP is a serious joke. I do like some of their designs but I'd only buy them used at around a 60-70% off retail.

If you're interested in the square ones, the BR03 is a more reasonable size for more wrists. 42mm doesn't sound "big" (compared to other "big" watches) but the square case makes it feel/look like a 45mm.

I actually kinda dig the BR V2-94 BellyTanker Bronze. Gives me that John Player Special vibe like the Tudor S&G Chronograph.

For sure.

Yeah, that one looks pretty good, and the design isn't as derivative as a lot of the other generic-movement stuff at this price level. Some of their older ones with "by Sinn" on the dial are cool, too.

They're not the worst or anything, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay MRSP for one, either.

Bell & Ross are decent I used to have a soft spot for the Phantom until I realised its slightly too big for my wrist , but what a cool watch ! Resale is terrible they tank like a lead balloon . Best bet is to get one pre owned for cheap cheap cheap
