Amazing watch! Was lucky enough to see one and think it looks much more amazing in the day with the ghost complication from the front . Just hard justify even paying retail on it, which will never happen, when secondary regular plat datographs can be had for 50% retail.

I never really gave this piece much thought, but have been offered one at retail. I'm really torn as to make the move or not.
I've really downsized my collection, but am trying to focus on more "timeless" pieces that will stay in the collection for the long haul. With that being said, there is a slight shift towards dressier pieces, the 5270P being one example. What are everyone else's thoughts?

It’s a bit different from the norm, but I doubt it has any real longevity in a collection, since the novelty value will wane over a (short) period of time.
Like pretty much all Langes, MRSP is not where you want to be when making a purchase – at least not if there’s a fair chance you’ll want to bail out of it. |

I have to agree. The only one that has truly done very, very well is the Lumen version of the Zeitwerk. And some of the handwerkskunst variants (but not all).
I *love* Lange, but they have failed to properly position themselves such that their market value remains strong. I expect to see Dato Lumens trading for below MSRP by EOY or 2020. The Grand Lange 1 Moonphase Lumen trades slightly above MSRP these days, and it's a more sought after Lumen due to the glowing moonphase. |

Many chronos can be used in the dark. :) Patek makes some. Rolex makes many. Omega makes many. :) Not to mention the non-Lumen Dato is very usable in the dark.
