FS 1968 Grand Seiko 4522-8000 Hi Beat
For sale is my 1968 Grand Seiko 4522-8000 Hi Beat. For those who need some background, this is a highly sought after piece of history because in 1968, Seiko sent in 103 of its 4520 caliber's to compete against the Swiss in the chronometer trials. They placed 3rd through 7th losing only to the new quartz movements. After that the Swiss took their ball and went home canceling the next few trials.
As for this particular watch, it is a manual wind, the markers, hands and sweep retain their beautiful polish. The dial is in good condition save for some minor wear in the upper right. It does have a replacement crystal and the watch is in excellent working order having been acquired and serviced through Hub City Vintage in May of 2018 (receipt available if required). My asking price is $1500, plus the 4% for Paypal transaction fees. Shipping in the US will be USPS priority, will be insured at a rate of $25 and require signature. Shipping outside the US is TBD depending on where it is going. It pains me to sell it, but I need to part with a few pieces to pay for some home maintenance. I do have a few reviews on OF and the 3rd link is to my eBay reviews. No returns unless watch is grossly misrepresented. If you have any questions about the watch please let me know. https://omegaforums.net/threads/waxt...d-buyer.92716/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/grea...xtactic.95430/ https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS....rchInterval=30 |
