Price vs opportunity dilemma...

Hi,
I wonder if it make sense to acquire a Rolex from a close friend of mine for a very good price, but on the other hand you really dont like it so much.
It becomes as a dilemma for me.
Rolex 116000, grey dial, year 2018, full set, for USD 3000

if you don't like it the price is not relevant, just pass. I don't buy things I don't like as it's pointless.

Agreed. There is nothing worse than looking down at a watch every day and grimacing. Allocate the budget to something that will make you smile every time you look at it.

I'd just buy a watch I liked.

I agree with above posters why buy something you don’t like, it’s throwing money away imo

If it were a screaming deal, I’d be tempted to see if I could bond with it and if I couldn’t, I’d sell it. But $3000 for a 36mm OP isn’t actually a screaming deal. It’s good but it’d be a hard resell if you choose to move it so I’d be a pass.

It’s not an SD. It’s a 36 mm OP.

What about the opportunity to help your close friend to get a better price?

I think the only reason you're entertaining the purchase is because of its low price... this will likely lead to you selling it one day because you don't really like it and likely make some dough on it and that could harm the relationship with the close friend.
