You mentioned calling in advance. So you were able to contact that particular boutique to inquire about the availability and express interest before traveling? Any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi- yes I called in advance and they then called the guy who had originally requested. Turns out that he didn’t want to follow through so they called me back to reserve it for me.

Hi all - I should have clarified. I’m currently not living in UK so am not resident. Was passing through and live in a VAT free jurisdiction.

Prices on Rolex UK website include VAT at 20%. Knock 16.5% off those figures to get a rough idea of what the duty free price is.

Looks awesome, congrats!

Keep trying to tell Americans the best deals are in Europe as you get VAT back.

Always love looking at the selection in T2.. couldn't think of a better way to pass time when waiting for a flight. Although, it's usually just full of DJs.

Thanks for the heads up. I called and spoke to a SA there and they basically told me that they give preference to customers with a purchase history and frequent fliers - that was a new one for me ha. He told me I would have to register my interest in person for a piece... It sounds like they didn't have much stock, but he asked me to call him in a few weeks so we'll see.

Hi- how did you get on? I didn’t have a history with this particular dealer, just got lucky that I was looking for something someone else had in reserve but decided not to buy- hence the lady allocated to me.
I’d give them another call ahead of traveling. They were really helpful.

This is all news to me. Terminal 2 and 4 both Rolex boutiques, and T 3 which is watches if Switzerland put out in the window everything they get apart from SS, which is taken out upon request if you request that specific model. Last I spoke to them about the topic they said they do not take reservations or orders for anything, it’s first come first serve. History or no history, calling advance or not. Unless things have changed only in the last 6 months

T5 and T2 Boutiques have definitely changed their policy recently. They used to offer first come first serve but have changed to be in line with High St boutiques where purchase history counts.

This change has definitely happened in the last 4-5 months.

So you have to be a previous customer of that exact boutique in T2? Or a specific london boutique ? Or any generic Rolex shop? In london (or Uk..?) . Please go into more detail

I wonder if watches of Switzerland in T3 changed theirs as well.

I spoke to Lewis yesterday and I have an appointment to meet with him Sunday morning when I land in Heathrow. He did say they could receive a shipment and that he could try to speak to his manager to get me a piece if one comes in (on the hunt for everose Daytona with black dial and/or LV Sub). But also looking to purchase an oyster for my niece for graduation.

For what it’s worth, he has been very helpful and even assisted me in determining which terminal I’d be landing in. I’ll keep you guys updated. My portfolio may keep shrinking, but at least the dollar is getting stronger!

Not only that, I think it looks much better than any of the ceramic editions.

Congrats on a beautiful purchase!
