Couple of tips for the beginners (tips you won’t hear anywhere else on wearing your w

Hey guys so I just wanted to talk to you without the usual crowd listening in. This isn’t for them. It’s for you.

Over the past few years I have noticed a lot more people getting into high end watches and posting pictures here and elsewhere. Congratulations if you are one of them!

I have also noticed what appears to be some confusion about where and how to wear the watch on the wrist. I write this post to help you if you are finding your watch experience to be less than comfortable.

The key is your watch should be worn around the part of your arm with the smallest diameter. Like this:

This is where the watch is supposed to sit. And it stays in place without being too tight.

Now what I have started to see a lot of people do is wear the watch more on the back of their hand such that the crown of the watch (if worn on the left hand) invariably digs into the back of the hand like this:

Also note that the watch is simply too tight.

I’m not sure where the confusion came from. But since I noticed it I wanted to say something to help you get the most enjoyment out of your new watch.

Give it a try and see what you think. You might like it. And if you do help your friends wear it the right way as well.

All the best

I think we're all secure in our decision making as to where on our wrists to wear our watch. But that's just me, I've been wrong before.

Technically, you’re probably correct OP.

Realistically, doesn’t matter any more.

Although, wearing a $10k watch 13 floors up over the railing with camera in hand isn’t really the right way to do a safe pic either.

Wear it below my wrist bone but loose enough to slide over. That’s what I find most comfortable.

Look at some Rolex ads and get schooled. We’re not all built the same.

I was always curious how anyone can comfortable wear a watch below the wristbone. When I try that it locks my hand/wrist from bending backward. But hey, to each their own.

Or wear it on the right side and the crown won’t be digging in anywhere.

I find mine much more comfortable on my wrist than my forearm as per the OPs suggestion. But whatever works for everybody personally is fine.

No, you're wrong. One wears one's watch where it is comfortable. Each person is different.

I wear my watch loose and lower down because (for me) it looks better and is more comfortable.

Oh man.

I guess now after 30+ years of wearing a watch, I’ll adjust how I wear it so that I can follow how you think I’m supposed to wear a watch.

Glad you posted this message for me.

Thanks.

OP you’re intentions are well but if you couldn’t already tell most here wear the watches how they want. I’m in that camp as well, everyone’s comfort is different and after they spend thousands of dollars on a luxury item it’s up to them how they want to rock it. Nice SD4k by the way

150 posts in 5 yrs qualifies one as an expert on the proper way to wear any watch. Thanks for the advice, I will change the position I’ve worn my watch for 30 yrs to suit your personal “preferences”.
