What do you guys think honestly.....
So I have the chance to buy this little baby from my AD who took it on trade. It's a 116518 K serial with a mother of pearl dial which I can't decide if I love it or it's too weird or I just like the "idea" of it being a gold Daytona which I do really want. I would immediately change the strap to another Rolex authentic med or dark brown without stitching. I LOVE the 116515 ceramic chocolate but don't want to fork out that cash. Anyhow, please share any thoughts bc I truly value them. It's fairly rare and a bit unusual so I'm really interested in the opinions of the best in the business. I you hate it, say so, if it's too feminine, say so, etc. Fire away.......

I hate everything about it. And I mean that ...
The color combo simply does not work. I rarely bash any watch because they all have "something" going for them but this one is mismatch city . Not for me. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

One lesson I have learned is if you're not 100% keen, give it a miss.

No, MOP dial color is really ugly and spoils this Daytona. Also, do not like Daytona's on strap. IMHO, Daytona should be with bracelet.

Yellow gold, mother of pearl, Romans and on strap. That watch is definitely trying too hard and so is the person who buys it.

Do I surmise correctly, from the change of attire from pic 1 to pic 2, that this puppy followed you home? On approval or some such arrangement? Or some more permanent arrangement...
I've owned a MOP Daytona and will say each dial is different and must be seen in person to appreciate the subtle tones that a camera has trouble conveying. If the deal was in the $14-15K territory, you got a nice deal and shouldn't be out of pocket if/when you flip it.

Ehhh it's a whatever Daytona to be honest. The dial is not for everyone and it seems it's not for you. Don't settle. Get what you want when your able.

Wrong watch for that dial if you ask me. I think you will quickly find the reason why it got traded in.

Not the best dial but I find it very rare and different . Legibility is kinda weak point but not a particularly for that watch. Thick tachymeter scale is a great touch on.

Never been a fan of the mother of pearl dial. That combo just doesn't work in my opinion.
If possible, hold out for the 116515. It's a whole different level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Honestly, I dont like it. The colors on the watch does not make sense to me.
As others already pointed out, I would save up for a 116515 chocolate dial as well. Cheers. |

The solution to your dilemma is to wait since you are not sure. I have been too quick on some prior purchases and regretted them. I like white MOP dials as everyone is unique.
