Which SS Submariner Ceramic model is the best and why?

114060 is my favorite watch. I prefer it over watches that cost 5x more $$$$.

I like all three for different reasons but if I had to choose for a one and only it would be the 114060. Classic design and dial.

114060. Because it just looks so damn good!
LV close second.
I’d put the TT black dial slightly above it though!

Of the three my preference is the 114060.

Why: because it is built in this one configuration only, and sometimes less is more

Sorry, 16610 for my taste. The 4 and 5 digit references have had the same lines and proportions for decades. For my taste, the unnecessary added thickness to the lugs and shiny bezel are not functional improvements, they simply give the appearance of the watch being bigger and gives off more wrist presence. To my mind that changed the watch from tool to fashion accessory. Nothing wrong with that per se, but when changing the design to suit a trend (bigger watch trend, but not actually committing to that) that’s not classic in my eyes. Classic stays the same, because it’s an icon and still looks fantastic despite the others changing.

I respect the Submariner (no date) but for me, I personally find the addition of the date cyclops a better looking watch & one that says Rolex with the signature addition of the cyclops.

I would like to add an LV, but not at the expense of the LN.

I have had them all and I am sticking with the Hulk. I like that in a world of submariner’s it has its own personality.
And if I want to throw on some black I usually just wear my SD50 or GMT.
IF the Hulk wasn’t available the my second choice would be the 114060 The lack of date is liberating!

I vote for the No Date. I don't need to know the date while diving. It's a classic design. Same with the Explorer. Who needs the date when you're hiking a mountain?

If I need to know the date I'll wear my travel watch, a GMT Master.

No question the 114060 is the most iconic of the lot. The simple dial and symmetry is gorgeous.

But if I had to choose one (and I did - waiting patiently) - it would be the 116610LN. I prefer to have the date on my watches.

I don't understand why people would choose to use their phone for the date if it can be on the watch. It lends credence to the entire "why wear a watch if the time is on your phone?" argument.

For me, the less I can pull out my phone the better.

I agree. 114060 is the most aesthetically pleasing but if I am going to choose one it has to have a date.

114060 classic Submariner design that has survived 70+ years. I am a Sub guy so I enjoy all the Subs in the line, but actually wish they would make more without the date. As in PM and TT no date models with other colors. Love an LV no date or a full YG LB no date.

Makes some sense, but % of folks on this site who just have 1 watch? I’m going with less than 5%

For sure. I was assuming a world where you can only have one watch forever. So basically I am assuming Hell.
