change in crown logo orientation

my grand Seiko logo crown used to be near horizontal and now it's rotated about 10 degrees clockwise. should i be worried about a stripped thread or damage to the tube? wear it during the weekday and don't baby it. never had that happen on any other or my watches.

How old is the watch? I’ll let the experts chime in but I know over time the position will change. I assumed it was just smashing the o ring but will be interesting to hear the actual cause

Yes, I think you are probably correct.

My (unqualified) opinion is that over time metal wears on threads; o-rings lose elasticity and are subject to both compressing wear & frictional rubbing; debris builds in screw-down threads; even metal temperature at the time might play a small part.

All very minute changes, but cumulatively, and over time, I don't think that slight change in screw-down crown orientation is all that unexpected.

thanks for the replies. watch is fairly new about a year old. I've read horror stories about Seiko servicing so I'm hesitant to send it out. seems to be ok, I've never noticed any of my Rolex crowns changing orientation except from coming back fr service

Really? I'm looking for a new daily wearer and ultimately landed on JLC. But I'd also seriously considered GS (I wanted something very low key). I had no idea that their service had a *reputation*.

US service center seems to be the reason.

If you get a GS, have your AD arrange it to send it to Japan, even at additional cost.
