Shipping Cost

I am contemplating purchasing a watch on ebay. The seller states a $200 shipping fee. This seems high. How much would you expect to pay for shipping for a 8k watch?

international?

That is definitely high. You could ship an $8k watch with insured overnight shipping (in the US), for less than $100 easy. International shipping wouldn't be much more, just not as fast. Depends on what method he is using to ship though, and how he's doing insurance (if he has a parcel pro account, etc).

Don’t forget that some sellers pad their profits by high S&H charges. First it’s pure profit, second reason is eBay doesn’t charge final value fee on S&H.

For starters I wouldn't be happy spending 8k on a watch on ebay! You never know what they done with the watch and you can't be sure it's real until you get it. Just my opinion man

This. It's a very old ebay trick.

I have never made such a large purchase on ebay, but I believe there is a buyer guarantee even if the seller does not accept returns.

I feel like I have done very good due diligence with questions, seeing receipts and calling the store where originally purchased as well as researching the seller's actual name online.

Any other advice from folks if buying on ebay?

Shipping Cost

Within the US for an 8k watch I normally pay around 50-75 dollars for FedEx priority overnight. Prices have crept up since ups bought parcelpro but they are padding it for sure.

100 would be absolute max coast to coast with packing supplies

Seeing an eBay seller with a $200 shipping fee that isn’t a trusted seller would be a red flag for me - however I would also never buy an $8k watch off eBay.
