Introducing Friends to Rolex and TRF
I have a friend that has been aware of my purchases since I joined TRF. After showing him my watches and explaining the heritage of Rolex, he's started to express some interest and is considering a 16710 Pepsi. I've also tried to persuade him to join TRF. We'll see how it goes. Has anyone else been successful in introducing your friends to Rolex and TRF?

None of my friends share the passion that I have for rolex. Actually a few think I'm nuts for spending the amount of money that they cost. As they say it's only a watch.

Me neither.. I get it all the time. So I bought a beauty for the Wife and that stopped immediately. But the friends just shake their head.

My friends were very surprised to learn how much I pay for these watches because they barely spend that on cars. So none of my friends would be interested.

I have two friends who are Rolex fans. One is a member on TRF and the other is thinking about joining. Don't know why he is apprehensive. Anyways, I don't really care what my other friends think! I buy Rolex's for me and for ME only.

My friends don't really care for watches, only a very few of them actually wear some so I don't think they'll ever think about spending that much money on a Rolex (or any other brand for that matter), let alone joining a forum filled with people who have a passion for expensive timepieces...

If you have to tell someone to join a watch forum you are probably telling the wrong person. You either get it or you don't. If you do get it you managed to find your way here on your own.

It's just a watch, it's small, and it tells you the time. Are you crazy?

If someone begins to like Rolex and want to learn more I would always recommend TRF

I introduced the gf to rolex, and after she poked around here a bit she had enough knowledge to talk her boss up on his 16610 which scored her some brownie points. Other than that...no.

tried but my friends can't understand why I wear a 10k watch. Then I tell them I know of people (on trf) who wear $100k watches...they just look at me funny

Yes. I have introduced a friend who admires watches and now owns a brand new Breitling. I am sure he will move to buy other brands soon!
