What causes patina, my 83 is fairly white

just wondering. My 83 (possibly 82) GMT is still fairly white. I live in Texas and it gets a lot of full sun. I had it since new, so I know it is all original. Wondering why so many others are already quite beige. I like mine white, but just wondering what happened to the others?

No expert in patina but wouldn't sun exposure bleach it and keep them white?
Any pics?

My guess would be sun light over a long period of time. However that is just my assumption.

From my understanding darkness contributes to patina on tritium dials. Watches kept in safes are prone to darkened tritium. My t<25 sub is pretty much as white as the day it was made.

You should post on vintage , only happens with tritium , not luminova , most agree due to storage without light, some very respectable collectors have reported patina reversal with significant light exposure
But not sure what the actual chemical rxn is...
