When you are in a questionable area have your 11 year old wear it.

Dang...that was intense. Sorry that your daughter had to witness, but glad you're OK and justice was administered.

I never told my TRFs this story because I never knew if it was my Rolex (Platona) or the Porsche we drove to the office. Perhaps it was neither.
I suffered a broken orbital bone and my daughter has slept on the floor of our room ever since.
My daughter seems better, and the thugs lawyer failed because of the cameras in the hallway and elevator. It is not all about insurance. I never really worry about myself, but I was not alone. I was taken completely by surprise.

No, it's all about situational awareness

Yes, depending where I'll be during the day I will not wear my Rolex.

Honestly I don't think the problem is "Rolex", a junkie, thieves, etc... will not look at the watch brand, they just want "the watch" to sell it for quick cash, having an all gold watch doesn't help either...

I am sure there are thieves that target specifically Rolex but I don't think that's the majority of cases...

I'm so sorry you had to go through that ordeal & that your daughter had witnessed the attempted robbery. I'm glad that you were able to fight off this POS & that your daughter wasn't harmed.

Headshrinker, way to go, sorry to hear about the whole ordeal but glad you handled it like no other. I used to be worried about stuff like that, until I realized I was living life like prey. I changed my perspective and think like a predator now. No worries since.

Sounds like the thug needs some career counseling. Terrible to go through something like that. As a long time practitioner of martial arts I often wonder what I'd do in a similar situation. The ring is one thing and real life another. Sorry that happened to you; I'm blessed to live in a pretty safe environment and not to be exposed to those kind of issues.
