A few of my bubblebacks

A good friend with a great eye and wonderful Fuji camera was over last night. Here are some of the results...

(now how did that Viceroy sneak in there? )

From L to R -- refs. 3116, 2764, 3196, 3725

Love those older Rolex references "bubbleback" and non. I am currently restoring a Rolex Speedking reference 4220 (picture attached) that appears to be a WW2 British POW watch acquired as part of Rolex's "pay after the war" program for British POWs held in Germany. The older references are small by today's standards ; but, IMHO They deserve a place in every serious vintage Rolex collection. Great group shot

Thanks John.
I have put this little gem in the hands of Edvi st ABC Watchwerks in Los Angeles. I know the end result will be very special...movement overhaul, new period correct crown and tube, resumed hands (with darker vintage lume) and a new OEM crystal all to be showcased with a special custom Bund leather strap from Peter at Gunny Straps. The end result should be very special and I will be sure to show it off once completed.
Frank
