Im on the fence

I would get the AP now. Stay on the list for the Daytona and Pepsi. Get on a 5711 list. as well At the rate things are going, who knows when you will actually get the call. When you do get a call buy them and then decide if you keep them or not. You will most likely make out if you flipped them anyways.

I too have a limit on how many watches my wife allows. I just sell one and buy another. She doesn't need to know the actual dollars involved...

What is the consensus on these things anyhow? Complete waste of money or what? My wife has lots of expensive handbags but 16k for a freakin purse? Do these actually hold value at all??

1) Buy the AP you like the most. Do this now.

2) Wait for the Daytona and Pepsi GMT (if you need to wait, which you probably shouldn't have to for long I would guess.)

3) Wait for the Patek (will have to wait regardless).

Easy Peasy.
A little off topic but I have to ask.. Is that you in your avatar? Everytime I see you post, it gives me a nice chuckle matching the avatar to your username. I am digging the combo.

This is a tough comparison here. Personally, I don’t like the look of the APs at all, especially the RO. They look chunky and utilitarian to me. I prefer classic Rolex design. I can appreciate them as being a classic watch, but I’d never spend that kind of money on them. It would be the Daytona for me.

Choices, in order:

1. 5711; without a doubt!

2. 5167 if you can't get 5711 (I personally prefer Aquanaut, but am bias as I have a 5065).

3. RO Ultra Thin.

4. RO 41mm black dial or RO 37mm silver dial (depends how each wore on wrist).

5. Rolexes (I like them, but only need one, and am not a huge Daytona fan).

6. One Rolex and something else in between Rolex and AP/PP; perhaps JLC, IWC, GP or Zenith if there's something in there you like?

Personally complete waste of time... but ladies seem to equate it to walking in the store and finding a 5711.

They are the same as the watches. U can sell it for more . Go to therealreal.com u can see.

It’s all relationship driven or something and also luck.

It’s insane... dead animal skin

Man I’m struggling with this decision now that I’ve slept on it. Lol. I’ll know if I want the AP by the time I get back east next week. The thing that bothers me is that it’s not the blue dial and I probably would not like the 15202 even if I was able to get one

Great shot. I’m not gonna say it’s better than Rolex because of this or that...I also own a No Date sub, but the AP is a different watch and enjoy having both the sub and the 15400 in the collection.

I have a blue dial Royal Oak and it's an amazing watch, but the bracelet is a little shiny for my taste. My AP will be going before my 116500.

So I decided not to buy the RO 15400. I tried the all gold version of the 15202. Size and weight. That would be the one to get, but unfortunately no real list. I would agree the 39mm fits better from all angles. I have a 6.75mm wrist with fat hands and can wear pretty much everything. Once you try the 15202 or the 39mm it’s just not the same for my size.

Separately, one of the ad’s suggested The Patek list for white face 5711 is only 2 years. The ad is also going to try and see if I can move up my place on the Daytona... so we’ll see.

I’m going to wait. Darn it.

with 6.75 wrists the 400 would be large, good choice

My thoughts, too.
