and of course the triple complaint complaint. The complaint about the people complaining about a complaint.

Honestly how I saw it. Not my place to complain about how others act in the forum. Thank you.

Got to love taking complaining to the height of artistic ecstasy. I eagerly await the next layer of complaints.

As I understand it... You've had a new watch for one week. You've already had it polished once, and are now considering laser welding to fix some extremely minor over polishing. You have also taken and uploaded extreme macro pics detailing flaws that only a microscope can see effectively, yet at the same time "have been very happy so far".

I love it!!!

(As you can see with my macro shots of bracelet resizing and lug work) However, I still have another concern.

...

Anyways, I will be uploading more Macro Shots of the Cerachrom, and a few other dirty parts.

It's been a week of ownership and I've been very happy so far other than the few flaws that have been addressed.
Thanks!

So sorry to hear!!! I hope you're recovery is smooth!!!

Haha yes! I work for a dealership! All jokes aside, if I can get things in condition that's closer to perfect, why not? Less hassle in the long run.

When I purchased my first, albeit used Rolex, I would only wear it out on special occasions, and the tinniest scratch on the clasp would have me obsessing.

You get over it eventually. I wear my current one to work daily and routinely bump it into walls and other easily avoidable objects. If there's paint transfer on the acrylic crystal I polish it off. Most scratches aren't noticeable at 2 feet away. These watches are beautiful workhorses meant to stand the test of time.

Was this watch bought "brand new" or "pre owned" from the AD?

By all means, seek perfection.

Just keep in mind tho, at times, u will compound the small problem.

Imagine if the RSC did not do the polish job to ur expectations. Now what?

Will u demand a replacement? What if they refuse?

Will u contact Rolex ? What if they refuse to help?

Will u retain an attorney ?

It’s a slippery slope. So much time wasted and added aggravation....

Like someone else said, it’s a $10k watch. I m sure certain level of +/- tolerance is expected.

How is the time-keeping accuracy? Or does that not even matter?

was the watch bought new? Looks like spring bar damage to the lug not extra metal on the lug. Happens when re-attaching the bracelet the spring bar slips and suffs/scratches the lug.

It could've actually been. It is new.

Did you notice the deformed screw heads? You can see a slight bulge; I have the same thing due to sizing. I did that myself. Rolex uses some sort of strong thread lock. On my Datejust there was no thread lock.

I'm hoping I'm not crazy this time. Isn't the GMT Date Flip supposed to be as immediate as Cal.3135?

Yes it should be instant.

Could be slight stiction issue with date ring (excess oil?)

I would slowly cycle it a few days to see if the date function operates then cycle it a full month and check if that fixes the issue in normal wearing..

If not then its the RSC for GMT.

Yes it should. Never seen a Rolex that didn't make a quick flip. Not always at midnight but within a few minutes of it.

The watch was purchased in February. I ran the hour hand 24h forward and the issue seemed to have resolved itself, flipping at 12:00 the following day. At this point, I decided to reverse the date (using the hour hand setting option) and will inspect again within the next couple of days. Let's hope it's just the process of breaking-in the oils, new parts if that even exists in watch terminology. Thanks

The only thing I see that I would struggle with is the lug. I wear my watch 24/7 - I'm not OCD my watches at all but that lug would bug me. The rest - I think you need to put the OCD glasses away :)

Out of curiosity what is your plan for the watch? Safe queen? Daily wear? Beater? For me the flaws you've shown pale in comparison to the flaws I inflict wearing my watches. And I'm gentle and conscientious with my watches. I'd wear it and wait for the first service before screwing around with it anymore.

Did you reverse the date by moving the hour hand backwards? I am just curious as I thought you weren't supposed to set the date by going in reverse. I have never owned a GMT so not sure if that movement is fine setting the date that way or not.
