Oh ok. Well do you like the way the DSSD fits or do you find it a little thick or top heavy as some have said?

I don’t even feel it on my wrist. It’s perfectly comfortable.

Well then keep it! No way would I move to a GMT in your situation. The DSSD is an amazing watch if you have the wrist to pull it off, and it sounds like you do.

You might just be itching for variety. I think that you will miss the Deepsea if you unload it. It seems like a great watch size for you to pull off.

What about getting an Exp2 Polar as a second watch just to have some variety? It has a larger face, and the white dial might be enough to give you some fun variety in your life to rotate between the two watches. I have both and love them.

Watches are not my passion. I just wanted to own one nice Rolex that is all. I put money into other things that are more important to me so I will not be buying another.

I have a lot of admiration for the Rolex Deepsea. It is the greatest engineering achievement of Rolex for diving that is for sale to the public. Do not sell it!

If I had the wrist to rock it, I'd be wearing a D Blue regularly.

If you sell the Deep Sea I'd only do it for the D Blue. If you haven't already, I'd suggest going to your local AD to try on a GMT -- obviously it probably won't be a BLNR but trying on any GMT may assist you in deciding whether or not the step down in size is something you're comfortable with, especially if you need to sell the Deep Sea to make the purchase.

This is a myth about the deepsea and wrist size .
I have under 7” wrist and it looks cool, I’ve also seen a very skinny lady wear one and looked awesome ( as well as the watch haha) .

I totally get it. I just wanted to share my experience and thoughts. I think at one point I also got a little tired of wearing my DSSD all the time which was my only one. I briefly considered selling it at one point, but I'm glad that I didn't. Once I had something else to wear, I found that I would miss wearing it. I think that given your size, the DSSD is a great watch for you. Not many people can pull it off well because of its size. Wish you the best in your decision. There is no right or wrong. Good luck!

BLNR is a great watch, but would be too small on your wrist. Keep the DSSD and enjoy it.

I’m a big guy too. A couple of inches shorter but about the same weight. I have the GMT and I think it fits really well. My last watch was a BIG breitling, about the same size as the DSSD and it did take a minute to get used to it but now it feels perfect.

Although I’m in the opposite boat tossing around the idea of flipping for the James Cameron

I’m in your size/weight class. If the deep sea no longer does it for you, I’d go with SD43. Nice size and the glidelock is a feature you will miss greatly if you go with blnr.

Don’t flip, but add the BLNR. They are beautiful.

Where's the beef? Did I just date myself? It's all a matter of perspective. I came from an Omega 44m that was 17mm thick. When I saw the sub and GMT I was underwhelmed and thought they were tiny. I also have a IWC BP at 46.6mm and 15mm thick. I started with the Sub and after a couple days my thoughts changed. I then got a Batman and think its perfect as well. I am 6'1 230 with a 7.75 wrist. What I will say is I now enjoy thinner watches. The DS is a beast! If you like thick and from your size can definitely rock a DS easy. I like the Cameron version by the way - beautiful dial. I would keep what you have and add later. If you go down in size just give it a few days.

Should I keep the Deepsea or get the gmt?

Btw getting both is not happening. I only want one nice Rolex. I’m just a casual watch guy not my main hobby.
ofcoz keep the dssd! its made big fella like you!

I have a friend with a Batman, he's right around your size.

I'll be honest and say I wont buy a sub or GMT because I think they look too dainty (for a modern tool watch) on a decent sized guy, but the Batman looks plain tiny on my buddy (IMO).

I own and like the JC DSSD. I have a 7 3/8" wrist and don't feel it's too big on me, I just wish it was a couple mm thinner. My "daily diver" is an AP Offshore Diver on a bracelet, at 42mm I think it's almost perfect for me, plus it's a little thinner than the DSSD. With that said, if I could ever get my hands on a SD43, I think I would really like its size... and I suspect it would wear well on a big guy like yourself.

DSSD or SD43 all the way for a guy your size!

I am a big guy also, same night similar weight and have big wrists. I was in the same predicament. I have the the Deepsea and wanted to add to the lineup. I tried the BLNR and for me it just looked to small. So I tried the sea-dweller 126600 43mm and never looked back. It’s a great watch, perfect size and doesn’t have that top heavy feel of the Deepsea
