They both are amazing watches. Some prefer the BLNR, some the 16710. Is there a way you can try both on, see if one sings to you more than the other? I have both and love each for different reasons. While they are both Rolex and GMTs, they individually have characteristics the other one does not have. It really all depends on what you ultimately prefer. Can you start with one and add the other down the road or you just want one GMT?

I have both. If I had to choose only one - gun held to my head - 16710 Coke. it comes down to the fact that the 16710 is about 30% lighter and a bit more comfortable when it's hot. I wear the Coke mostly in the warmer months and the BLNR mostly in the cooler months.

I am the proud owner of a GMT II and a 16710 (Pepsi). 16710 gets my vote... there is just something about it...

I owned a BLNR and it was cool but if I ever did a GMT again it would be the older style.

Only reason I would have all 3 inserts and swap when I would like to thus making it a completely different looking watch.

i love the ceramic bezel, so i would go with the BLNR which is also more versatile in my opinion.

My opinion only... it depends on what you're after. if it's just pure looks, it's the Coke for me (though I prefer new bracelet and clasp). If you're after the mechanical improvements and warranty, it's the BLNR. Get whatever sings to you. Tough choice... if you have the chance to get both, why not?

The six digit models are better engineered and incorporate many improvements that were long overdue. Also, in my opinion the blue/black combo of the BLNR is the best GMT bezel that Rolex has ever made. But I understand the allure of the Coke and Pepsi bezels too.

Yes. This. I mean, no one knows. But it seems like a possibility at least.

Definitely 5 digit coke.
Insert change is and option, swapping to straps is easier if you choose holes in the case, brushed bracelet, more of a utility feel, lighter, wears more refined, I can go on and on.

The BLNR was the first ever rolex I bought, and though i wore and loved it for a long long time, to me it doesn't compare. I still own my coke and sold my BLNR to my best friend.
Good luck with the choice though, nice problem to have!

Coke. Better proportioned case, better overall design, no polished center links, non-ceramic bezel that is easier and less-expensive to replace, highly desirable and will only continue to grow in popularity.

Coke is driving people nuts. People want its perfect colouring imparted to ceramic. That reason alone is enough. It's also cooler - Mentioning your 'BLNR' or 'Batman' is decidedly uncool. In my opinion.

Can not go wrong either way. May not be possible, but, as many have said, I really hope you can try both on first.

I finally got to try on a BLNR today at an AD and I have to say it was amazing. Felt great on the wrist and looks even better in person in my opinion. I have yet to try on a Coke to truly compare apples to apples. Luckily the manager made a mistake and told me it was actually spoken for or I might have done something hasty!

I have been contemplating this lately as well. I already have a coke and love it! Some points here resonate with me - in a negative way. I REALLY don't like the polished middle links and the blue color in the bezel sometimes looks a little 'cheap'. Still... the batman seems to be haunting me... :)

Tough call, but in the end no matter what you have an awesome watch. For me the BLNR when viewed from the top has the circle on square look due to the beefy lugs, and I just can’t get past that. I wish I could as the bezel on the BLNR is stunning and is a deep blue and black, but in other light takes on a silver look. Half the fun is the search and research you do prior to pulling the trigger, so enjoy.

I recently sold my 16710 and bought a new BLNR. Could not be happier with the move.

UMMM.. If this is true why not just go GMT II LN ?

The all black with a splash of Green (which you probably wont see anyway) is a nice classic look and would save you some $$ as well.

Just a thought .. Best of luck with your decision
