Here's to First Time Rolex Owners

Seems like so many of us post new threads announcing our latest addition to our collection and showing beautiful pictures of the latest alongside our entire collection that might equal the annual budget of a small country. Still others of us ask for advice as to whether to get a YG or WG whatever because we want to be sure it will look right with our latest wardrobe or new shoes. In short, many of us, including myself, are blessed to have more than one Rolex. And, many of us have worked hard to make that possible.

What really warms my heart however, is to see a post from someone who is so excited to have finally acquired his/her first Rolex, whether it be brand new or pre-loved. Some of these folks say they saved money, waiting for years and are now so thrilled with their new watch. Just gotta say that each time I see such a post it brings a tear to my eye. For some of these folks, this may be the only Rolex they will ever have in their lifetime.

So, to all you first time Rolex owners, welcome to "the club" and may you always remember the thrill. I am so happy for you and proud of you. Enjoy!!

Thanks! I've had mine for three weeks. It's a lifetime ambition realised and I still can't stop looking at it. Thanks to everyone on here for such a warm welcome too .

That was well said. I know I'm not wealthy by no means just an average joe who works hard for his money & it sometimes takes awhile to save for the special things that I want.

That was well said. I think all of us no matter how many we have always remember our first one. I know I do and yes it did take me a while also for the first one. Then things went crazy. Two more a month later etc. But I never will forget the first because I remember what it took to get it.

Really hit the nail on the head I've been window shopping for what seems like a lifetime for a submariner. Came really close so many times but unfortunately other needs not wants came first. So I can relate to your post well said.

Inspiring words indeed, just got mine, after saving a lifetime to have one, the feeling is still fresh when I walked out from the AD with a Rolex on my wrist

I agree Ron. And , welcome newbies! I also feel blessed to be able to strap on a Rolex as when I started collecting, I really never thought I'd be able to afford a Rolex and did not even have them in my sights. It was only due to sacrificing things like expensive vacations or buying news cars that I was able to afford Rolex. Even then, my dream is an 18kt YG GMT or Sub and that is just that, a dream.

As others have said, we also have other needs which take precedent so may not be able to acquire new toys ourselves. I'm glad I can live vicariously through others beautiful purchases and dreams. For those of you just finding your dream come true.....CONGRATULATIONS... :-)

Got my 1st Rolex in August. Told myself before I'm 40 I'll have one. So I beat that goal by 11 month. I sold some other toys for it.As of now it doesn't look like I'll be getting more, but I sure do dream every day on the sale forum. It is nice coming here feeling like part of the Club.

thanks Ron! as one of the newest newbies it's great to have a warm welcome. each day i look at mine and think about how fortunate i am to have "joined the club" at a relatively young age. but thankfully it hasn't come without a bunch of hard work to this point, and the next addition will require keeping my nose to the grindstone. work hard play hard!
