Strangely, I've never liked the black Sub enough to want to buy one. But the green one is getting very interesting. That would be my choice if I had to have a SS Submariner.

I love my HUlk, it's great as part of a collection but I wouldn't have it as my one and only. I've not seen an LVc in the wild but they are hardly rare in AD's.
For anyone looking in London, I saw a Hulk, DSSD and SS GMT all in the tiny window of WOS at The Exchange in the City today. |

The Green would be my choice as its a little bit more noticeable than the black,i like it,and more unusual too.

The green dial Sub Date is a mighty fine and beautiful Rolex but in the long run I think you'd appreciate the more classic look of the black dial Sub Date...

If ur only nice watch simple. Black. It's more versatile and to most future watch owners the black would prob be easier to sell. If you have a few watches that cover the bass get the LV. I've seen some LVs in the wild that really clash with some attire.

I like both the black and the green but I would probably go the black as it is more classic. I prefer the 16610LV over the hulk actually, green and black, looks more subtle....

My suggestion is to go to an Chinese Feng Shui master for advise. Depends on one's life green may be more suitable than black and vice versa.
I prefer black actually. |

Since you ask I'd get the black. I wouldn't get the green because I don't like it.
The LN is in higher demand I would wager in terms of numbers sold. On the other hand the green will be made in smaller numbers and could be more difficult to locate. For resale purposes? More of a market for the black I would say. Who knows though whether the green will carry a premium a few years down the line? |

Even though the green looks great I'd get the black.

The black dial Submariner is a classic Rolex and the one that all others emulate.
The green Hulk is for the collector who has several other Rolexes in his collection, or a guy who just falls in love with it at first sight. It is impressive in its own right but will clash with some attire. Great conversation starter I imagine. Go Black and don't look back ! |
