No as you can pull the nato through the gap between springbar and case to install or remove

This is true but one area to be aware of it has been noted that using springbars with shoulders the nato could possibly snag the bar and cause it to release, I had never had this issue but it's something worth noting.

Now I use shoulderless springbars and if I need them removed I snip them out with wire cutters.

Only the Tudors were designed to have a Nato and were sold with them as part of the package.

Natostrapco.com is a fantastic source for NATOs. Plus discounts if you buy in bulk

Thanks for the response but I was asking about taking off the original SS bracelet without the tool. Can that be done with something other than the tool and not ding up the lugs or bracelet?

I tossed my SD on a NATO this month, wore my GMT for the month of July on a bracelet. I think I'm going to go full NATO for a while, even on my GMT because it's so much lighter, and I basically forget about my watch. Not saying the Rolex is heavy, but when you've worn a Suunto for a decade, throwing on a hunk of steel is a noticeable difference, enough to be a nuisance sometimes.
