Rolex Tool?

Hi All. Been here before, but looking for some info on these.

My dad went to Rolex's school in 1987. He had these parts since then and never used them. Just trying to see if anyone know about these and if they are sought after or just nothing? I couldn't not find anything online about these at all. Not even a photo with google using as many works as I could think of to describe them.

Well anyone can see they are not tools, they are watch crystals, one is from the Daydate it has day and date window the cal 3055 movement, the other from watches like the DJ with the cal 3035. The cal 3035 and cal 3055 was used from around 1977 till 1988 when they first introduced the modded version into the cal 3155 and cal 3135.

And just some friendly advice forum is not to be used for touting sales of any kind.

They're not crystals. They are some kind of mock dial. They have dial feet. But not sure the name or the purpose.

Rolex Tool?

It's a clear dial, used on calibers 3055, and 5055 to diagnose any calendar issues you may be having.

On calibers 3055, and 5055 you can not jump the calendar without the dial installed because the dial holds all the parts in place.

Limited see through dial, if coupled with crystal case back you get a skeleton DD.

Duh Now I get it. lol. I service these but didn't realize that. And I just did a day/date movement this afternoon. Thanks for the info. I guess these could come in handy.

Also, for those saying it could be used as a clear dial, these things are almost 2mm thick

I service a DayDate too and I'm not a Rolex Service Technican, I'm not even a watchmaker.

So where did he say he is a Rolex Service Technican? I don't believe there are big text enough to find that in his posts.

Unplugging your keyboard might help

On topic, I've never seen one of those things, pretty cool to know what it is used for

LOL. Wow. Well, my dad went to school in '87. Never used em, I guess they just threw them in with whatever else he got. I'm 31 now. I've only been doing watch work for a few years. Only from what he's taught me and what I've picked up on my own. I'm not a "Certified" tech. But, I still know how to service a movement. I'm doing wholesale watch work for about 10-15 jewelry stores at the moment. Probably 1 or 2 Rolexes come through from each store per month.

Thanks for the explanation.

In my defense, I never said "certified".
