Best option: 16710 "Coke" modified with the maxi plot dial from the BLNR and the fat BLNR minute hand.

Now that's an interesting idea...

I was going to suggest 16710 with a new bracelet, though. Best of both worlds.

I personaly do not like the blnr, I have always found the blue to be to purple-is for my test compare to the blro... the Coke is a classic and incredibly comfortable to wear. It’s my daily...

The BLRO red color is bright. The BLNR blue black is more subtle and toned down. Depends on individual. I would prefer a more subtle watch that does not scream for attention. That's just me.

16710. As previously mentioned, is a classic. Proportionally perfect design, looks great with either a jubilee, oyster or nato. Plus the bezel insert options.

I would go with the BLNR although I'd also love to add a coke & pepsi to my collection some day

Coke for me. I am not feeling the Batman at all. The 5 digits are like a Porsche 993. Classic, beautiful, and hard to beat, even with better technology available today.

I bought my first Rolex today, the GMT Master II BLNR Batman.

Honestly, I wanted the older “Coke” version, but it just seemed like too much of a gamble.

The “Coke” would probably need to be serviced. And most of them were about the same price as the new “Batman.”

If you can find a good “Coke,” that’s what I would do. The BLNR does feel good on my wrist, so I’m not regretting it.

A Coke was my first but that was 26 years ago! I won't let mine go now but given the choice today it would be BLNR...its the latest and greatest. I do love the new bracelets!

BLNR only because the 16710 references are priced too high imo. Get more bang for your buck.

get the coke

and if you don't like the insert, source a pepsi or black and you'll have 3 watches.

16710 is very flexible.

me personally? 16750 matte.

the new cerachrom insert looks gawdy.

Sounds like you really want both. You may as well just flip the coin and go for it. I’m in the same boat, but I lean 51% Coke / 49% BLNR.

Both awesome watches. I should have bought a coke when they were half the price. Not sure I'm willing to pay what they are going for today. But man they're nice. I do have a BLNR and it gets a lot of wrist time. I'd stay go for the one that you think you will wear the most. I bet you end up with both anyways!

The Coke is more classy, IMHO. It has the charm of a classic Rolex with all the modernity hidden. The contemporary Rolexes have all the punch of modern technology but there lies the rub; it lacks the soul of classical Rolexes..

I've never been a big fan of the BLNR. I think that shade of blue and the black clash. The blue looks like a bit of an afterthought. Actually, this whole generation of GMT is a no go for me because of the green on the black bezel model and the polished center links on both models. For those reasons, I would go for the vintage Coke bezel.

That's true; 16710 prices are nearly unjustifiably high when you consider the technical advancements in the newer model.

I will definetely go for the BLNR which I find to be one of the best looking in the line up.
