2018 ss gmt
Local AD (Surrey, England) told me more than 25 on waiting list.
They expect only 4 New SS GMT's this year. The grey dealers will get hold of them, and profit hugely. |

Well that is news - new Basel SS models in short supply?
There are two tracks here - be on a list and wait for AD. Or buy BNIB thru secondary channel at marked up $8K above MSRP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Exact. I think that no GMT, Sub, Daytona watch is going to be reserved for individuals.

Pretty much this is a $9,200 dollar item that will be worth 4-6 thousand dollars over

Think that’s optimistic judging by the early Daytona 500 pricing on secondary market. The first ones may be offered at $20k or a bit more. Even a year later, I’d expect $17k-ish. It’s the easy way Rolex ADs can make money - get premium on top of MSRP from sellers. And the seller will likely have to take 3-4 old inventory PM or TT to even get the new Pepsi. I’m not ranting just sharing my 2¢... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Fair enough - but no worse than a Surrey AD’s view of the global Rolex SS crisis. Maybe that’s what we have here - a 21st Century replay of the 1970’s Arab Oil Embargo. Remember the lines at the gas pumps? But not everyone was equally inconvenienced. Some could always get fuel on demand, by appointment through connections. Others were waiting online for many hours a day - only to learn the fuel ran out before they ever got to the front. Much hand-wringing, reports of who had seen an open gas station, secret dealings, brokering, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
