Day Dates in AD’s

Are you guys seeing a low supply of yellow gold 40mm Day Dates in the AD’s. Stainless steel is impossible to find but how about these particular PM’s? I have some connections reaching out for me looking for particular one and I just didn’t think it would be this hard.

My AD has one sitting around in YG if you need me to pass along the info.

Really depends where you are. In Manila Philippines all ADs have them always in displays albeit a hand full probably bec of its cost. DDs just have so many variants that ADs dont find it prudent to have such big inventory of DD 40s

OTOH in HK there's a ton of them.

In Muscat, there are multiple always on display. Then again, colored metals are not popular in the middle east.

Plenty of them in Munich airport, including YG, WG, blinged out ones, etc. Seek and ye shall find :)

Have you tried Mayors in Tampa International Mall (ask for Nick, tell him Steven EnjoyTheMusic says hi). BTW, they never made a SS DD40.

Yes I know them extremely well. A couple of weeks ago when I was there I saw this elderly gentleman asking if they offer a discount. Two men from the back with what looked like communication devices in their ears ran out grabbed him and he disappeared never to be seen again. Of course I’m kidding but you get the point. Trying to buy a watch at Mayors is like listening to a Miley Cyrus song. Slightly interesting in the beginning but mostly painful in the end. No thanks.

Having said that Sammy and George are pretty cool to talk to. And I guarantee they have every style of Day Date there is. They control Rolex in the southeast.

I never heard of a SS DD. I think I saw discussion on one once here. They were discussing whether not they made one a few decades ago. I have no idea. I want a YG black dial 40mm.

Thanks everyone. I ask because I have a strong relationship with a couple of small AD’s. They both tell me they can order any YG I want but it will take a month to get. So I was wondering if Rolex was slacking in the gold department like they are stainless steel. It looks like they aren’t but they certainly give no love to their small AD’s. Never thought I would say this but trying to buy a Rolex watch just isn’t fun anymore like it used to be. May I lose my ability to even speak words if I ever find myself in the situation I’m begging an AD to find/sell me a watch.

I have never seen a lack of PM at AD's. The inventory is controlled by a contract with Rolex and they are required to maintain a certain number and type of watches in inventory. When they swipe a card for a watch, especially PM, they are then immediately restocked. I wish it was that way with certain sport models. With the DD it is all about options on dial color.

Nick is cool and enjoy chatting with him. Hmmmm, seems Mayors can be a challenge as was said by Nick (then at UTC) and an older gentleman at their Tampa store to be #1 for the SS SkyD blue and never got the call (got one from a longtime watch friend) and we'll see if they can deliver the new SS Pepsi as called at 7am / Basel to be the first caller (re-called at 10am when they opened too).

When they deliver the new SS Pepsi in a timely manner will write wonderful things that they finally came through. And yes, have bought from Mayors before (full price, no discount). The ball is in Mayor's court as to what i write about within my articles(s) as well.

Sometimes the fun is in the hunt. Other times you expect and AD to live up to their promises/word. Let's see what happens shall we and not jump the gun here.

As for the DD40 in stock, they seem to be everywhere and any AD can easily order whatever you want. Wish you saw the massive stock at the Rolex AD in Munich Airport this week. They had PLENTY of DD40, including the same Everose/Chocolate with diamond dial i wear at shows/events, yet they had one with the round diamond bezel so was able to decide if i want to upgrade the bezel yet am waiting for Rolex to make a baguette diamond version.

The Mayors in Palm Beach Gardens lost Rolex. They have a bunch of nice preowned, looks like it is probably the display models from when they were an AD because they all looked new and recent. I was surprised because Mayors and Rolex kind of went hand in hand in South Florida. They must have lost the account recently to, because I recall seeing the Mayors Rolex billboard on I95 pretty recently. The replaced Rolex with Omega

For the first time, the AD has one YG Day-Date and one RG Ladies Datejust on display. The sales person told me that instead of ordering PM watches on request, they are now required to have some in stock.

My AD has only 36mm DD's. They haven't had a 40mm in months. Perhaps since 2017. Which is odd because they've got a good selection of PM Daytona. They just sold a Platona and a YG on oysterflex last week. So it isn't as though they can't move PM pieces.

Local AD recently put up a bill board along the freeway advertising yellow gold 40mm Day Dates. Kind of surprised me to see it.

I see lots of yellow and rose gold DD40s here in Dallas-Fort Worth area. Having trouble finding DD40 in platinum though.

I think you can basically order them and get a fresh one in the coffin with any dial you want in about 3 months.

They’re about as common as DJ’s in the AD’s I’ve been to lately. Availability isn’t an issue, just need the funds.
