2018 Rolex Presentation Cocktail Event Photos

Hey guys, I was lucky enough to be invited to the 2018 Rolex Presentation cocktail event at their Tourneau location here in Chicago this evening. It was an opportunity for them to showcase all of the 2018 Basel models over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Everyone left with a gift bag containing some awesome Rolex literature as well as some Rolex chocolates. A very nice touch.

I came to the event for one specific purpose - to see the pepsi GMT in the flesh. It looks so much better in person. The blue is more blue in person. Photos always make it look purplish. What is interesting is they displayed all the models with "dummy" movements in them. Pretty much they were non-functioning watch cases with the sole intent of having people try them on.

I love the watch. There is no doubt in my mind I will own it one day. Just depends on timing. I specifically asked one of the sales clerks there to take a full body shot of the watch on me for everyone's reference. All I ever see is shots on the wrist. My wrist is about 6.75" and I am 6 feet tall. As a bonus I included a shot of the root beer. It's cool, but not as cool as the pepsi. All in all, I was very pleased with the event and for the opportunity to touch and feel these models in person.

I stop into the store on occasion and made a relationship with the manager there. I also met some folks who just happened to stop on by earlier in the day and got the invite so it seemed to be pretty open to enthusiasts but there was an RSVP list you had to register for.

The Jubilee is too blingy, one of the reasons I don't like Breitling watches.

Nice pics! Were you able to put your name on the list for the Pepsi?
