Are the standard 40mm Rolexs to small for you?

OP, I get it. Give it a week or two to get used to it. I love the 40mm pieces.

I prefer 42 to 44mm, so yes I've gone away from 40mm, especially those that wear extra small like the daytona.

I also have a 7.5" wrist and I have to agree. Just the other day I was wearing my 16710 and thought it looked a little small. Probably the reason my SD43 and my Panerai 005 get so much wrist time.

Borders on being too small, but i think i barely get by.

Ive got a 7.5 wrist, but i go to the gym quite a lot, so a lot of the watches at around the 41mm and below mark, tend to look like ladies watches on me.

My Black Bay Steel is 41mm and to be quite honest, it feels perfect on my wrist. Compared to a GMT II or another Rolex model, I doubt I would ever notice +/- 1mm. If anything, the height of the watch case would be much more noticeable for me.

For Rolexes, the SD43 is the perfect size for my 7” wrist. I do like my Hulk, but would like it more if it was 2mm larger. I also have the YMII and Deep Blue

Three years ago, before I had my first Rolex, I was wearing 44+mm divers (PO XL, Seawolf, Cayman, Seacraft).

A work colleague was trying to get a 114060 at the time. We both have 7in/18cm wrists. I remember my first reaction was "40mm is too small". That's always been my problem with the Sub. When I saw his No Date in the flesh, the super case almost made up for the small size but not quite in my view.

I got my YM that same year, equally small, but it was my grail and my dressy sports piece in a collection already full of large divers so I was fine with the size, although I would have preferred it at 42mm.

When the SD43 was announced last year, I knew I had to have it and boy did it live up to my expectations. It did not disappoint. It was the Super Sub I've always wanted, bigger, stronger, better. Not detracting from the quality and icon status of the Sub which I totally respect.

I would still consider a Sub at 42mm without a maxi case and with a 3235 inside.

I have average wrists but I like wearing sports pieces on the large side, especially in the spring/summer.

I like 40, 42, 44.

36 is too small for me and I have a 7inch wrist. But I also have bigger biceps and that’s why I can’t go below 40

Seeing the Explorer II next to them really makes it seem tiny, my wrist is 7.5in and it fits perfectly. I'm not saying it's to small I'm just wondering if any of you guys have gone from a 42mm- upwards and then put on your 38mm- 40mm Rolex and maybe thought" it's to small for me"

I guess this is what I get for wearing bigger watches

I feel after wearing it more I'll grow accustomed to its size and realize subtle is the way to go!
No 40mm is a perfect size and I have 8 half inch wrists, plus I very often wear my vintage ones and some of them are 30mm.And all this supersize this and supersize that, in reality we are talking about a few mm bigger. With today's fashion trend that bigger and heavier is better just heard from Rolex via a AD, and we all know they always tell the truth, sometime in 2019 all watches will be made of lead instead of SS.But this is no ordinary lead this lead is super refined and cerachrome coated called 909L Rolex special oysterlead. And watches will come with 6 different size interchangeable heads, ranging from 44mm up to 74mm for days when you are feeling super strong, and want to show off your supersize super heavy watch.

I think 40 is a little on the small side, for me anyway. The ceramic models do a little better job but the 5-digit I had definitely wore small on me. This was the main reason I picked up the SD43. Wanted a little more diameter and thickness. In my mind a sports watch should wear a little chunky as compared to dress watches. 43 works well on my 7.5" wrist. If i had a 6.5" wrist I would probably prefer a 40. All comes down to how it fits the wrist of a particular individual which is why it's nice that Rolex has finally put some larger options out there...

obviously this is a matter of taste and your wrist size. I personally have a 7" flat wrist. I think the 40mm watches are too small for me. Yet I see guys in NYC wearing giant watches >45mm and I think they look ostentatious (especially yellow gold/diamonds). I had a 42mm Panerai and sold it. 44mm Panerai and Casio diver get most wrist time. Still waiting on list at AD for SD43...soon I may have to throw myself off this forum as I don't own a Rolex.

The 16570 Exp II wears a bit smaller IMO due to the bezel. Still a perfect size though.
