Cosmograph...

Hi,

I have looked for an explenation to the wording Cosmograph on the Daytona but cant seem to find it... Whats the background to Cosmograph?

The reason why it says Cosmograph is because Rolex wanted to capitalize on Space Exploration which becoming a reality in the 60s. In the end though, the Omega Speedmaster was choosen to become the space watch for NASA and so Rolex pivoted to associate the watch with racing.
