Finding a Rolex SS sport model in LA

I’m here for my son’s college move in day and will be staying until next week.

I plan to window shop for a Rolex sports model in LA. I have my eye on a Exp 2 White.

Appreciate any recommended Rolex dealers in the LA area that may have said model and that you can refer to a visitor like myself?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck on your search, seems like everywhere is hard to find anything.

explorer 2 shouldnt be that hard to source, especially in white dial (black is a bit more popular i think but still not hard to come by)

Polar 216570 should be the easiest SS model to find in an AD case. Great choice and good luck with the search!

Check out Morgans Jewelry. Pretty sure they have a white Exp 11. 310-375-4471. Not sure if Shirley is working today but she's really nice. Great store!!!

Polacheck's Jewelers in Calabasas is my go-to AD. Kind of out of the way, but worth the drive if you have the time. I find they often have a better selection than most of the ADs in LA proper, though it's hard to find anything SS these days. Give them a call and see what they have at least.

Thanks mate! I’ll try to arrange my schedule for the AD visit. Your tips are helpful!

Yes, I was at Bhindi in Glendale just on Wednesday and spotted the Exp2 White on display inside. Hope it will still be there waiting for you. Good Luck!!

Try Hing Wa Lee in San Gabriel (if you happen to go that far east). Hope to see you post an "incoming" next!

Hi there! Was there shortly after lunch. Saw both Exp 2 Black and White. Spoke to the gorgeous sales lady and will make a decision very soon. I would say the Exp 2 Black was surprisingly nicer in person than the white.

Just a follow through question:

Which one would you choose:

Exp 2 White
Exp 2 Black

I agree I should be happy to get either one but since it is available in both variant, just would like to get your opinion.

Thanks in advance.

Glad you were able to find them. I guess the Black one maybe just came in a day or two ago? Or maybe I wasn't really paying attention since all I was looking for was the BLRO, BLNR or the Hulk.

As far color goes. My preference is the black one.

i was set on the Polar, looks gorgeous in photos, but side by side in real life, the black was an easy win. I just knew I’d wear it more often, whereas the Polar would have been an occasional watch.

If you have black watches that satisfy your needs go for the white to change things up, add some variety.
Otherwise I like the black dial more and the ghost hands are a great touch to the original Explorer ll. When I was in the market for this watch, all the photos made me like the white, but when I saw them side by side in real life, I easily preferred the black satin dial. Variety be damned.

Yes, you’re correct. The black dial came in just very recently. I casually asked for a Black Sub and the lady said that they don’t have but they can look for one if I am interested. I didn’t bother to ask the hot models like BLNR, Daytona and Hulk anymore.

I really got smitten by the Exp 2 Black. I didn’t notice the phantom hand mentioned in the review until now. I’ll probably go for the Black one.

I have many black dialed timepieces. And initially set to go white to add some varieties to my collection. After seeing both colors in person, I felt more attachment to the black one while the white one made it wear bigger on my tiny wrist. I’ll probably go for the black one.

Many thanks my TRF friends for chiming in with the assistance and the PM/DM referrals to ADs in LA. A great community of like minded people so thanks again!

Many thanks also for your inputs on the dial color. I prefer Exp 2 Black.

I’ll keep you all posted on my final purchase decision and wrist shot, as always.

Don't take too long, although not hot sellers they don't sit around too long.
Now lets get some wrist shots and congratulations going.
I still really like this watch. So many nice Rolex, can't buy them all.

I’ll probably close the deal soon. I’ll definitely post some wrist shots.

To be honest, I really like the way Bhindi handled my queries. Very professional and no hard selling or the often quoted remarks that I would see posted here in this forum “get it now or it won’t be here tomorrow”. The sales lady even gave me her business card to ring her if I finally decide.

I tried on the black first and loved it, it's gorgeous but I stuck with my plan to go polar which now I'm glad I did because it works better with my collection plus the date and cyclops isn't in your face as much as it blends in well with the white dial. It instantly became my daily wearer.

Forgot to update you all but here it is... Polar white. The orange hand really pops on the polar dial and won the day!
