How did you finance your Rolex?

I agree with others, always cash or credit card that is paid off immediately.

What do you cash guys do for purchases over $10,000? Bank draft? Debit charge? Or another cash equivalent? My AD doesn't like cash (actual bills) on sales over $10,000, but likes other cash equivalents like bank draft.

Always cash via bank wire. As many and as addictive as this hobby is especially if someone spends much time on this site it's good people aren't racking up huge credit card debts to buy them.

Again if Im buying cash, wire, etc but I get to the point that I hustler the seller down to sell same as cash paying with a credit card at 0% I will be paying with the card...Imagine how many miles or points you earn on a $10,000 transaction...Did it once with a Capital One card on an $8,500 purchase at 15 months 0% interest...got to choose between miles, statement credit or use points at some other retailers...picked Best Buy and got $350 FREE to spend there. How are you going to say no to FREE money? All those comments "if you don't have the cash don't buy it blah blah blah" are pure BS, as long you pay the SAME amount cash or card at 0%, card will be a better choice no matter what.

If you insist that cash is king in this specific situation then that means your credit score can't get you a basic Seiko from JCPenny

I surely hope that all the responses of CASH are more for people's own ego...
Anyone who is foolish enough to pay cash for something in 2016 is not using financial sense.
In this world, a good credit card offers valuable protection and easy recourse should it be necessary. Pay it off before interest is due and you will reap the benefits of both.

Cash or wire transfer for me. If it's zero %, I would consider it but only if the cash was in the bank.

Basically agree with most of your points. Given the choice of spending my money or someone else's for a month (or longer) at 0% then why the heck not?! Not to mention the added buyer protection, etc that you don't get with cash.

Unless there's a significant discount for cash (and I personally haven't experienced that at my AD) then I really don't see the point of paying cash, for anything. Maybe for those that lack sufficient financial discipline or are prone to impulse buys. All others pay with the CC!

Anyone suggesting that a credit card purchase is for those that can't afford it is either ignorant, uninformed, or simply hasn't thought this through carefully.

I budget it and when I have the cash, I go shopping. Never bought a watch on credit. Double V only deals in cash.

Cash or take advantage of no interest credit; which ever seems easier at the time. Never pat interest!!!

Some people only deal in cash, not credit. My father is very well off and hasntbhad a credit card in many years.I do very well not like some on here but very well for a regular guy and i dont use credit cards.I do everything in cash.my creist score is very good but i could care less as i dont need a good credit score. If some of you cant accept that then uou have problems.Buy what you want however you want but dont put people down cause they pay cash.i dont fly so dont care for miles and i dont care for cash back either.

Maybe it's just semantics, but if you finance something or put it on a credit card, why does that mean you can't afford it? Yes I understand the definition of "credit", but still I get some great rewards on my CCs. I try to put as much on cards as possible.

However I won't buy anything like a watch, unless I have the total amount prepared to outright buy it. I'll just pay off my card within the billing cycle.

Anyway, maybe it's just me, but Am I the only one who things the sentence in bold above is just such a Captain Obvious thing to contribute here?

Another perfect example, when buying my BLNR the seller only accepted Paypal, when choosing source of payment I could choose money straight of my bank account CASH or my Plum Card from American Express. Choose Amex instead which I have to pay in FULL every month but if you pay 10 days before the due date you get a 1.5% discount off the balance...guess who got $117 back?

Bingo, I get better deals with cash in hand. It's the people with egos who let that much hard cash walk out the door. An AD can make some money or no money. The choice is theirs. I'm always willing to walk out if the deal isn't right. These are luxury items that I don't really need.

I usually deal with loan sharks to finance my watches.

But of course I always pay on time
