Sea Dweller RED 43MM 126600 Yeah or Neah?

It’s an odd one really, a lot of people get fixated with the size (myself included) but it wears so well even on wrists under 7”...in my opinion of course.

I agree with you.. I barely squeak into the 7” wrist territory and I love how mine fits. I’m also 6’8 so that helps offset the size of the watch possibly. Either way if you love how it looks on YOUR wrist go for it. No one can say a damn thing about it to change my mind on my wrist, it’s never coming off lol.

It is a great watch. To me the only upside against the 116600 is the red line, and the new movement.

The size, proportions, cyclops, bracelet (126600 has a wider bracelet by the way), the 116600 wins for me.
In my opinion, and my wrist, 40mm is the perfect size. But some prefer larger watches. To each his own.

And thank you !

I prefer the 116600 for myself, tbh.

The SD43 is a great watch for those wrists that can handle the size, but for some reason something looks off on it for me, personally... the bezel may be a little thick for the style of the watch? Not sure... but something doesn't sit right with this reference for me...

Original sd4k over the sd43 any day!

The 116600 on the other hand, has the bracelet I like, with a 40mm case with shaved lugs.
I agree with this. I have the SD43 and I find it to be less comfortable than the Daytona and BLNR. The head is too heavy, and I find myself wanting to tighten the bracelet. I could have bought the 40mm so many times, but now they are tough to get. This is one of my many regrets. With what I know now, I would have taken the 40mm over the 43.

Both are really great watches. But the 126600 movement was quite impressive to be honest.

They didn’t downsize, unless u r referring to DSSD

Although the 43mm size is not for everyone,
126600 is a homerun by Rolex
(126600 mk1 is a grand slam or a walk-off hr imo. )

Love mine, but I don’t think we need to convince u much.... lol
What he said, get it now while you can get them close to MSRP or years down the road you might kick yourself for not too

I have seen girls wearing them. Funny how now really only see younger girls with DJ41s, Daytonas, Subs and even AP42s and 44s yet some guys still complain a 41-43 is too big for them. Man up! :)
The "large accessories on small women" fashion trend caught on because it accentuates the wearer's slenderness and femininity. See: the Olsen twins and their giant bracelets and sunglasses.

To each his own, but that's not a style I'm personally trying to achieve.

I have the SD43 and the SD4000 ceramic version. Both are very comfortable to wear and I wouldn't part with either.

If forced to choose, I'd go with the 43 - it looks and feels absolutely superb.

Its the best Rolex diver since the 16600 IMHO. Same thickness as the 116600, but wider case and bracelet gives it better balance on the wrist and disguises the thickness I felt was apparent when I tried a 116600 the other day.

Correctly sized It wears as comfortably, if not more comfortably than my Sub did on my flat 6.75 inch wrist. For most it needs to be worn snugly and just above the wrist bone. If you don't wear your watches that way it may not work for you.

It will, however, never wear like a YM or a Daytona (both of which are almost imperceptible on the wrist) and so comparisons are a bit pointless.

Its a 4000 ft rated dive watch. Its not supposed to wear like a 36mm datejust.

Can be worn with a Tux or a wetsuit (obviously) and everything in between. And the best case/bracelet proportions of any Rolex diver since the aforementioned 16600.

And it feels special, in a way that no Sub can, as do all the Se Dwellers. Its intangible, but its there.

But if you don't get all of that, and not everyone does, then its not the watch for you.

But if you do, and you're still on the fence, it does this when the sun hits it just right

The SD43 is my favorite Rolex Diver of all time. I started with the Submariner years ago and have owned them all. I like the DSSD but always felt the bracelet compared to the watch was not in proportion. The SD43 is the watch I always wanted before I knew what it looked like. The size is right based on the watch and the bracelet. The red text, dial, bezel and I even like the cyclops. It could be a one and only for me. I bought mine through the Grey Market and paid just slightly more than I would have paid my AD with tax. Go for it. You will not be sorry.

Don't regret it, you own Rolex nonetheless

If it's MK1, keep it for a while. Probably you'll sell it with a premium in months time. Then you can get yourself a 116600. Good luck !

If I had to only have one Rolex it would be the SD43. I absolutely love it. For example I usually take at least 2 watches with me when I travel, but this year I haven’t even bothered because I know nothing else will get a look in.
If you are buying one, try your hardest to get the MK1 dial that doesn’t have the Rolex crown between the Swiss made at the 6 o’clock.

This is really the case. Six months later I still have the same reaction every time I wear it. Really hard to explain but you will know it when you wear it. A Sub is a great watch, but this one just feels more special. From the size, to the proportions, to the history, to the red writing, it will give you a feeling that you just don't get with any other Rolex diver.
