Common discounts for Daydate 40 and

Hello my dear Rolexians,

After buying a Datejust 34 Oystersteel with a black dial at the start of this year I’ve grown quite fond of the Rolex brand.

Me and my fiance plan on buying ourselves 2 more masterpieces.

I’m going for the Daydate 40 yellow gold (228238-0006)
My fiance would like to buy herself a Datejust 31 everose gold (178241-0029)

Both watches aren’t in stock so the AD would need to order them. Our wish is to go via AD’s only, I understand multiple people here will probably try to convince me otherwise (which I’m thankful for) but it’s just not our preference.

I was wondering what kind of discount we could expect, or what kind of discounts you guys received in the not so distant past.

We live in Belgium btw.

Thank you! And glad to be part of this forum

I don't expect anything from the AD's anymore. Much less a discount. These days if they have a watch and it's the one you want, it's a minor miracle.

I can almost guarantee you that if they have to special order it for you, there won't be a discount.

Good luck!

You should still be able to get a discount on 2 PM pieces. Obviously if the watches are sitting in the case you’d have a much stronger negotiating position. If you have access to multiple ADs my advice would be to explain that you are shopping around and ask them their best price, then try to have the other beat it, and so on. Make them compete with each other.

For two PM watches I’d say at least 15% to 20%....... even more depending on your relationship with that AD

Discounting on Rolex PM watches vary considerably throughout the world. OP is in Belgium and most people responding are from the US.

I would recommend that OP visit a few ADs in Belgium, Holland, France and maybe Germany and ask the ADs about discounts on the 2 PM Rolex. I am sure a discount is available if you shop around. From what I hear, there may be more discounts available in Southern Europe compared to Central Europe.

Thanks for the responses so far, anyone care to explain what "PM" means? I googled the term but ended up not finding the explanation :-)

PM is precious metal.

Since you insist on buying at an AD be ready to pay nearly full, especially when ordering in.
Price is an issue apparently so perhaps later you wish you would have done different and saved yourself 25%.

For two PM watches at the same time I would expect 15-20% off and the ability to buy a SS Daytona-C at msrp. Shop around, in person, the phone will not work for discounts and compare what they tell you. When you get the deal you want, go for it.

If you can't get 15-20, I'd go trusted seller. Too big of a difference. Why just give that money to the AD, you can take the difference in savings, add a little and get a second watch.

My best bit of advice is to order them to the Rolex stores in Heathrow airport when travelling outside of the EU. The price differential versus euros and the VAT saving should make it very competitive. Give them a call and see what they can do.

15-20% shouldn't be an issue, considering the price and volume.

I've never bought in Belgium but I known that in Spain, you get at least 15% off on any non sports steel watch at least, without even asking for it. Buying 2 PMs I would aim for 25% off. AD is still making 12% on a high price tag piece.

As the rest have mentioned, 15-20% can be be done & more since you are purchasing 2 pieces. I would try looking for them in stock sitting at another AD for comparison/better deal

20% min, if not from that dealer.... there are many European dealers so no worries. About 25 to 28% would be good for straight 'cash' (bank transfer) deal.
