I'm currently in the market for a no date, I have the Hulk, and lately I've been wearing the Tudor BBB, I really like that it doesn't have the date. Heck is the truth I struggle the read the dates. LOL

No, never by a watch without a date complication, particularly an iconic Rolex Sub.

I’m a huge fan of the no date. I sold one a few years ago and now I have a deposit on one at an AD. Definitely a must have for me

Go with what you want. For me the no date looks nicer.

I'll echo the sentiment here that you should only get the watch you really want. Compromise breeds dissatisfaction, and that's never good when it comes to a luxury watch purchase. There are all kinds of things we have to compromise on in life, but a Rolex shouldn't be one of them. Asking about upgrading from a watch you haven't even bought yet is a pretty clear sign you're not all that keen on getting it.

However, if you're seriously considering the no-date in lieu of the date version, ask yourself how you will feel having spent the money on it, then instinctively looking at your wrist to see the date, only to be reminded this multi-thousand-dollar watch can't tell you that. If you think you'll be OK with that, then the 114060 might be a good choice for you. If it will annoy you, then don't get it.

I had the opposite decision turning down the date to get a no-date. Get the one you really want. B

I do like the date and the cyclops look , but my no date has certainly grown on me. I did have some doubts at first, but the symmetry and clean look have won me over. The grass will always be greener on the other side.

I prefer the Submariner to the Submariner Date vastly, to the point that if the Submariner didn’t exist, I wouldn’t own a Submariner Date. So the question is easy for me. Get the Submariner; I used to be a date person, but now I really dislike having the date on most watches. There are some, like my Monaco, for example, that do it really well, and some, like GMT watches, where they really need a date as an integral part of the timekeeping, but other than that, I go no date. The majority of my collection is no date. Once I’m done my reshuffle and add my next watch, it’ll be 4 no date to 2 date.

(Apologies for flashing the cash, in my defense, it’s only about $9 in USD)

Well first off, I would like to thank everyone for chiming in on this thread and stating their opinion. I have made a decision and am going to wait for the watch I want. I have a good relationship with my salesman and he stated he will notify me as soon as they receive the watch I want. It will be my first and pretty sure not my last Rolex purchase. I really want it to be special and not regretful as I have been saving for some time. I’ll keep you guys posted!

From reading countless threads on this subject, most of the people that say they prefer the date actually prefer the date.

Yes, this sounds over simplified. But, I can't remember any person ever weighing in on the subject saying, "you know, I thought I preferred a date, but I found out I could live without it." Just doesn't work that way.

So...long story short, if you want a date, don't get a sub without one.

I prefer the no date. If you've given it serious thought and prefer the date model don't settle.

I had both. I prefer the no date. Maybe I'm OCD but I hated how the bubble would get smudges and dirt around the edges all the time. I prefer the clean crystal look and symmetry.
