DJ41 owners : still feeling the love for your chosen dial?

Please don’t take offence at this question!

For a variety of reasons I’m considering picking up a DJ41. While I’m very clear that I would want a fluted bezel on a jubilee bracelet, I’m now less clear on dial colour.

I had been of the view that, if I was to get one, I’d get the blue or dark rhodium dial - and have expressed that view on the numerous “what dial should I get” threads. However, more recently when I’ve tried DJs on, the grey and blue just haven’t sung to me the way they used to (still lovely...they just don’t set my pulse racing as they once did) and I find myself more drawn to the silver dial.

So, my question is - for those of you who own DJs with the blue, rhodium or silver dials, have you found their appeal holding up over time?

I don’t have a DJ41, but I do wonder when the current passion over blue dials will fade?

In 10 years, will a blue sunburst dial be seen as a mark of the 2010’s?

Interesting... Things go out of fashion, but some styles remain classics for a very long term. I think almost all Rolex watches and dials can be viewed that way. I think you can also change dials should you want to in the future.

Great question! I just picked up a DJ36, and have been wondering the same.

I have a silver dial 41mm DJ with fluted bezel, bought 5 years ago.

Absolutely love the watch. For some reason, it has a retro feel to it.

My 2 cents. Bought DJ41 fluted, jubilee, silver dial a year ago. Have SubC and SD4k and wanted a timeless classic with different dial to my divers. Still love it and convinced I made right choice

I am wearing my silver dj41 as I type. Purchased a few months ago. I own a lineup of Rolex. Not only am I still happy with the dial, I am so happy with the dj41 as a whole I can’t believe it took me this long to get its appeal. It might be my favorite reference ever. The comfort is beyond words, and the look works with literally everything.

I think that when you try the right dial on you will know. I like the white dial. I have always been able to read it and as I have gotten older it makes a difference. White is also a neutral color that matches or goes with all other colors. I owned a silver dial DJ II and liked it but in certain light conditions, it did not work as well as the white dial. Go try them all on.

I have smooth on jubilee.

Silver dial. And yes, I like it as much today as I did when I got it. I absolutely love mine.

TBH, I just kinda lost interest in the DJ altogether...it wasn't a question of dial color though.

Human nature man. Whether it be a car, a watch or a something else we always inevitably want something else in the future.

The silver dial had kind of flown under my radar until I tried one on at an airport AD - it was all they had in SS DJs - and I really liked it. It does, as you say, have a classic feel to it

That is a great shot and the watch looks fabulous on you. I’m also wondering why I don’t have one in my collection - and may have to address that gap sooner rather than later!

I have the blue and absolutely love it. I originally wanted a Rhodium, but found it more difficult to read.

I have the white and am still loving the dial choice (though I’ve only had it a few weeks). Was deciding between blue, rhodium and white, and went with the white. Love the crispness of the dial and the contrast with my other black dial watches

I have a Blk Dial, 41, on a 'Lovely Jubilly'.

No regrets whatsoever. I contemplated a lot (and I do mean a LOT) over rhodium vs black, and eventually chose black.

I felt the rhodium didn't offer as much contrast compared to the bracelet, and black is always a colour Wesley Snipes told me to bet on.

Hence...

I just got a new one, SS slate roman numeral and love it, I has character for sure although it was a toss up with the silver dial which was a close second and maybe safer choice with its more monochromatic look. I'm not a big fan of the jubilee and don't own one but am thinking of adding one with the silver dial as well. Haha, an excuse to buy another !

I had the 41 with the Dark Rhodium face. Beautiful watch, just wasn’t quite right. Ended up trading it for a white dial version and am thrilled with it.

I've got the TT DJ41 with Champagne dial. Wound't trade for any other colors.

Now a Rose Gold DD....

I think the blue dial is stunning, but my favorite has always been the white dial (not silver). I think that's a timeless option that won't get old. That being said, I think the blue, silver, white, and rhodium are all great options.

One color I personally would rule out immediately is black. Plenty of professional models you can get down the road which more often than not have black dials. Definitely do something different if you're buying a DJ.

I got the DJ41 with the blue dial, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet and I still love it after owning it for over a year.
