I'm happy to post an update when it arrives to save everyone time and money in case it doesn't fit or is of poor quality. He also has a yellow strap option. It's supposed to arrive in a week or so.

The bracelet is great. The straps are just OK imo. And the deployant clasp is not the greatest. I wish I could get a nice long rubber strap with a tang buckle for swimming.

Little tip. Get a Sunshine cloth. It’s a yellow dry buffing cloth that will remove light scratches from the polished bezel. It’s a lot easier and less messy than trying to use a compound or a greasy cape cod cloth.
I bought a nonOEM butterfly clasp which i like. Allows me to have all my straps permanently mounted with hardware for easier swaps.

Congrats on your new Santos! Looks fantastic! I'm a big fan of of the new Santos models. I've had its blue dial steel version for over a year and love it. I can certainly understand your frustration with Rolex dealers. I love the designs and have several, but the attitude some of them give potential buyers is ridiculous. Anyway, congrats again and enjoy your new watch

Rolex will keep doing what they are doing because if they stopped it would hurt them in the long run. They want to stay unobtainable. They love that you bought I Tudor hoping for a Rolex. It's part of the plan. Why not buy a Tudor GMT instead while you wait. They love it.

The only way it could hurt them is when it completely turns people off to the brand (which could happen but doubtful). At least for me, I wanted a new watch, went into the Jewelry story that carried Rolex and all he had was Gold and ladies watches. He was really interested in me but the store was a joke, all the cases were empty.

Went into an Omega and walked out with a PO. Literally never looked back.

This is a lovely piece! I’m surprised your AD who helped you source your other Rolexes couldn’t source you a GMT or more accurate timeline sooner.

I also have a white SkyD and a blue Santos that I purchased last year right before the ALDC option came out. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of the new Santos line. The new bracelet design is amazing with the easy adjustment links and swapping of the bracelets/straps.

Looks great. IMO a better choice than the Tudor. Classy, modern, substantial. Cool.

It arrived earlier today. A few thoughts:
- As expected, the blue is lighter and more vibrant Vs the standard blue strap (see picture for contrast) Nothing noteworthy happening on the flip side other than no branding.

- the leather is a lot more supple when compared to OEM (see picture comparing it to the brown Cartier strap I bought). I wouldn't say thinner though, just more supple. That said, it's supposed to be calf leather, which seems to be the same material than the Cartier strap that comes with the Santos

- locking mechanism looks slightly different (see picture). Not worried about affecting the watch head other than of the strap comes undone of course. It's a bit loose on one side, I'll reach out to the vendor.

- I feel it looks good, I will wear it whenever appropriate. The main downside to the Santos is being locked into the strap system. Hopefully there will be more vendors who caters to this largely untapped market.

Questions?

Hi all, having been on Rolex AD lists for over 2 years with no joy in obtaining a GMT Ceramic Pepsi, I thought I'd go and purchase a Tudor Black Bay 58 blue - I piece I also really like. I was disappointed. I never thought I'd have to get on a list for a Tudor. What was worse, one AD said they'll consider me for one but will need to look at my purchase history at the store. I was taken aback... I'm sure it's been said before, but the fact that a company was in a position of deciding weather they would provide me with a product that I'd be paying for was, I feel, disrespectful. This didn't sit well with me and decided to look at other brands, brands whose distributors would show some respect for their paying customers. Enough ranting, I needed to get that off my chest.
In the end, I revisited Cartier. Previously, I'd never been a fan of their offerings, looking a bit oldy worldy and dainty to me. When passing by a boutique, I noticed The Santos de Cartier in steel with a black ADLC bezel. It really stood out to me - had to try it on. When I did, I was sold. It felt so natural on my wrist, svelte, but bold at the same time. I loved the screws on the bracelet and bezel. It gave the curved, slim body an elegant yet industrial look - something I hadn't seen Cartier execute well before. It was also great that it came with a rubber strap which changed the look to much more casual.
Roll on a few weeks, the watch arrived yesterday. Here are some photos along with the other watches in my collection. Hope you enjoy.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who have spent their money away from Rolex due to the way I feel they are treating their customers. Customers who really love their designs and would buy them if only they were available. Lifes too short to wait years for a watch, and on principle, I wouldn't feel comfortable paying over the retail price.

Cartier WSSA0037 is simply stunning, the right mix between sporty and elegant. It really fits your wrist. Can I ask your wrist size? thanks

Awesome decision! Much nicer watch than the Black Bay 58! Great lineup you have there as well.

Great choice. Congratulations! Cartier seem to be doing a lot of things right lately and this Santos is definitely one of them.
